Thanks to nearly 70 years of tireless efforts from both sides, the China-Africa relationship is now at its best in history. With its future growth in mind, I propose that bilateral relations between China and all African countries having diplomatic ties with China be elevated to the level of strategic relations, and that the overall characterization of China-Africa relations be elevated to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era.

此次访问是中非合作论坛北京峰会以来首位非洲国家领导人对华进行的国事访问。访问期间，习近平主席将为鲁托总统举行欢迎仪式和欢迎宴会，两国元首将举行会谈。李强总理、赵乐际委员长将分别会见鲁托总统。相信此访将为深化中国同肯尼亚关系，落实中非合作论坛北京峰会成果，构建新时代全天候中非命运共同体，促进“全球南方”团结合作作出贡献。

This will be the first state visit to China by an African head of state since the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold a welcome ceremony and a welcome banquet for President Ruto respectively. The two presidents will have talks. Premier Li Qiang and Chairman Zhao Leji will meet with President Ruto. We believe this visit will contribute to deepening China’s relations with Kenya, carrying out the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit, building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era, and promoting the solidarity and cooperation of the Global South.

Guo Jiakun: China is the world’s largest developing country and Africa is the continent home to the largest number of developing countries. China and Africa share time-honored friendship. Under the personal guidance of President Xi Jinping, the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was successfully held in 2024 and China-Africa relations entered the new phase of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. The fine tradition for Chinese foreign ministers to start their year-round overseas visits with a trip to Africa speaks to the growing profound friendship between China and Africa and the continuity of China’s friendly cooperation with Africa. China always believes that Africa is never “the lost continent,” but the land of hope and source of dynamism.

Mao Ning: Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to four African countries will mark the 35th year for the Chinese foreign minister to make Africa his first overseas destination at the start of the year. At the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) last year, President Xi Jinping proposed that bilateral relations between China and all African countries having diplomatic ties with China be elevated to the level of strategic relations, and that the overall characterization of China-Africa relations be elevated to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. President Xi Jinping noted that China and Africa should jointly advance modernization that is just and equitable, open and win-win and eco-friendly, puts the people first, features diversity and inclusiveness, and is underpinned by peace and security, and take ten partnership actions, which were well-received by Africa. Namibia, the Republic of the Congo, Chad, and Nigeria are all China’s friendly cooperation partners. The purpose of Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s upcoming visit is to implement the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and deepen practical cooperation across the board for sustained and substantive growth of China-Africa relations.
