—We should build a BRICS committed to peace, and we must all act as defenders of common security. We humans are an indivisible community of security. Only by embracing the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security can we pave the way for universal security. The Ukraine crisis still persists. China and Brazil, in collaboration with other countries from the Global South, initiated a group of Friends for Peace to address the crisis. The aim is to gather more voices advocating peace. We must uphold the three key principles: no expansion of the battlefields, no escalation of hostilities, and no fanning flames, and strive for swift deescalation of the situation. While the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, the flames of war have once again been rekindled in Lebanon, and conflicts are escalating among the parties. We must promote an immediate ceasefire and an end to the killing. We must make unremitting efforts toward a comprehensive, just and lasting resolution of the Palestinian question.

林剑：中方严厉谴责昨天发生在卡塔尔首都多哈的袭击行为，坚决反对以色列侵犯卡塔尔领土主权和国家安全的行径。我们对袭击事件可能导致地区局势进一步紧张升级深感担忧，对有关方面蓄意破坏加沙停火谈判的举动表示不满。武力换不来中东和平，对话谈判才是根本出路。当前，加沙冲突延宕已近两年，中方强烈呼吁有关各方特别是以色列为平息战火、重启谈判多作积极努力，而不是相反。

Lin Jian: China strongly condemns the attack yesterday in Doha, Qatar and firmly opposes Israel’s violation of Qatar’s territorial integrity and national security. We are deeply concerned that the attack could lead to further escalation in the region and disapprove of the actions taken by relevant parties to deliberately jeopardize Gaza ceasefire talks. Use of force will not bring peace to the Middle East. Dialogue and negotiation is the fundamental way out. It will soon be two years since the conflict broke out in Gaza. China strongly calls on relevant sides, especially Israel, to make an effort to end the fighting and resume talks, instead of the other way around.

林剑：加沙冲突延宕已经超过700天，造成6.4万加沙民众死亡和前所未有的人道危机。中方反对和谴责一切伤害平民、损害民用设施、违反国际法的行为，敦促以方立即停止在加沙的军事行动，尽快实现全面持久停火，防止更大规模的人道主义危机。

Lin Jian: It has been over 700 days since the conflict in Gaza broke out, which killed 64,000 people there and caused an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. China opposes and condemns any move that harms civilians, disrupts civilian facilities, and violates international law. We urge Israel to immediately stop its military operation in Gaza, realize a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire as soon as possible, and prevent a humanitarian crisis on a larger scale.

林剑：中方代表已在表决后的解释性发言中全面阐述了立场。我愿重申，有关决议的高票通过反映了国际社会的压倒性呼声。加沙冲突不能再延宕，人道灾难不能再继续。中方呼吁维护国际法权威，切实落实联合国安理会和联大有关决议，推动加沙局势尽快降温、实现巴勒斯坦问题在“两国方案”基础上的全面、公正、持久解决。

Lin Jian: The Chinese representative has elaborated on China’s position in the explanation of vote on the draft resolution. Let me reiterate that the adoption of the draft resolution by a large margin reflects the overwhelming call of the international community. We should not allow the conflict in Gaza to drag on and the humanitarian catastrophe to continue. China calls for efforts to defend the authority of international law, faithfully implement relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly, promote the early deescalation of the situation in Gaza and realize the comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian question on the basis of the two-State solution.
