Second, a stronger commitment to the Five Principles is required in a development-focused Asia. Over the past decades, Asia has maintained rapid development, because countries in the region have always followed the right way to get along. We have treated each other as equals, fostered mutual respect and mutual benefit, and jointly promoted stability. For Asia to achieve even greater development, it is imperative that we continue to pursue friendship and partnership with our neighbors, oppose bloc confrontation and “small yards with high fences,” and increase the synergy for development.

林剑：国与国交往不应针对第三方或损害第三方利益。日方打着“自由开放”的幌子，实际上做的却是挑动阵营对抗、打造“小圈子”。这种做法与地区国家和国际社会求和平、谋发展、促合作的共同愿景背道而驰，不得人心。

Lin Jian: Exchanges between countries should not target any third party or harm others’ interests. When the Japanese side chants “a free and open region,” it is actually seeking to divide the region to create more confrontation and exclusive circles. This is at odds with the region and world’s pursuit of greater peace, prosperity and cooperation.

亚太是合作发展的高地，不是地缘博弈的棋局。搞集团政治和阵营对抗不会带来和平与安全，不利于亚太和世界的稳定。

The Asia-Pacific is a pacesetter of cooperation and development, not a chessboard for geopolitical competition. Group politics and bloc confrontation will not bring peace and security, and is not conducive to the stability in the Asia-Pacific and the world as a whole.

郭嘉昆：中方已多次就美英澳建立所谓“三方安全伙伴关系”推进核潜艇及其他尖端军事技术合作表明立场。我们一贯反对制造阵营对抗，反对加大核扩散风险，加剧军备竞赛。

Guo Jiakun: China has made clear more than once its position on the so-called trilateral security partnership between the U.S., the UK and Australia designed to advance cooperation on nuclear submarines and other cutting-edge military technologies. We oppose bloc confrontation and anything that increases the risk of nuclear proliferation and exacerbates arms race.
