The Central Committee is keenly aware that opening the door brings progress, while closing it leaves one behind. For China’s development to gain the upper hand, seize the initiative, and have a good future, it is essential that we follow the tide of economic globalization, leverage the strengths of China’s massive market, and pursue a more proactive opening up strategy. Adhering to the principle of achieving shared growth through consultation and collaboration, China has promoted high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). We have advanced a large number of cooperation projects with significant implications for fueling economic development and improving people’s lives in countries along the BRI routes, and worked to build the BRI into an initiative of peace, prosperity, openness, green development, and innovation that brings different civilizations closer, and a widely welcomed public good and platform for international cooperation in today’s world.

Beijing Youth Daily: The 2025 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit successfully concluded yesterday. This year’s summit, under the theme of “Forging an Open, Cooperative, Secure and Inclusive Future of Digital Intelligence—Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace,” was attended by over 1,600 guests from more than 130 countries and regions. Participants centered their discussions on global internet governance and affirmed the principle of extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefit, so as to ensure that every country and everyone enjoy the right to equal development in cyberspace. 国际调解院的理念与习近平主席提出的全球治理倡议高度契合，奉行和解合作和谐、坚持公平公正公道、秉持共商共建共享、倡导以人为本、注重务实导向。作为国际法治领域的新举措，国际调解院将为推动构建人类命运共同体注入法治正能量，也将助力香港打造“调解之都”。

The vision of the IOMed has a lot in common with the Global Governance Initiative put forth by President Xi Jinping. The IOMed aims to promote reconciliation, cooperation and harmony, defend fairness, justice and equity, uphold extensive consultation, joint contribution for shared benefit, and focus on people-centered approach and real results. Establishing the IOMed is a pioneering act in international rule of law. The IOMed will play a positive role in advancing the building of a community with a shared future for humanity by promoting the rule of law, and will help make Hong Kong the “capital of mediation.”

习近平主席在会议上发表重要讲话，指出当前百年变局加速演进，金砖国家作为全球南方第一方阵，要坚持弘扬开放包容、合作共赢的金砖精神，做到“三个坚持”：一是坚持多边主义，捍卫国际公平正义；二是坚持开放共赢，维护国际经贸秩序；三是坚持团结合作，凝聚共同发展合力。习近平主席还深刻阐释全球治理倡议的内涵要义，强调金砖国家要坚持共商共建共享，积极推进国际关系民主化，通过改革完善全球治理体系，更好应对人类社会面临的共同挑战。

President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the summit. He pointed out that as transformation unseen in a century is accelerating across the world, BRICS countries, standing at the forefront of the Global South, should act on the BRICS Spirit of openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, and uphold three principles. First, we should uphold multilateralism to defend international fairness and justice. Second, we should uphold openness and win-win cooperation to safeguard the international economic and trade order. Third, we should uphold solidarity and cooperation to foster synergy for common development. President Xi Jinping also elaborated on the major content of the Global Governance Initiative, stressing that BRICS countries should follow the principle of extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefit, actively promote greater democracy in international relations, and improve the global governance system through reform so as to tackle more effectively the common challenges for humanity.
