第五，培育民众相知相亲新亮点。以中国—东盟人文交流年为契机，进一步深化文化、旅游、培训、青年等领域合作，开展更多地方、友好组织间的务实交流。建好办好“中国—东盟现代工匠学院”，创新实施中国—东盟青年领军者成长计划，加强青年交流互鉴。打造更多“小而美”民生项目，筑牢双方关系的民意基础。

Fifth, we will foster new highlights in people-to-people interactions. We need to make the most of the China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchanges, further our cooperation in culture, tourism, training and youth, and increase practical exchanges at subnational levels and between friendly organizations. We will open and run well the China-ASEAN Institutes of Modern Craftsmanship, implement the China-ASEAN Youth Leaders Growth Program with innovative ideas, and promote more exchanges and mutual learning between the younger generation. We will deliver more "small yet smart" livelihood programs to consolidate public support for China-ASEAN relations.

我们将在高质量共建“一带一路”进程中，更好统筹重大标志性工程和“小而美”民生项目，妥善应对发展道路上出现的干扰和困难，建设好这一全球规模最大、范围最广的国际合作平台，走好这条中国与世界共赢之路。我们将坚定维护以世贸组织为核心的多边贸易体制，共同抵制保护主义和关税霸道霸凌，拓展同世界各国各地区的贸易和投资自由化便利化。作为2026年亚太经合组织东道主，我们将与各经济体加强沟通、密切协调，合力推进亚太共同体建设，激活并探索实现亚太自贸区的路径，让亚太地区继续走在世界开放合作的前列。

We will advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation by better coordinating major signature projects and “small and beautiful” livelihood programs, and properly addressing disruptions and difficulties along the way. We will steadily develop this largest and most extensive platform for international cooperation, fulfilling its potential and forging a path of shared success between China and the world. We will firmly uphold the WTO-centered multilateral trading regime, jointly resist protectionism, tariff hegemony and tariff bullying, and expand trade and investment liberalization and facilitation with countries and regions across the world. As the host of APEC 2026, we will strengthen communication and coordination with member economies to jointly advance the building of an Asia-Pacific community. We will energize and explore pathways toward a Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) to ensure that this region continues to lead the world in openness and cooperation.

“一带一路”倡议实施以来，带动超4000万人摆脱贫困；全球发展倡议提出以来，有力凝聚发展共识，广泛动员发展资金，推动国际发展合作更加符合全球南方利益诉求，更加有效推动广大发展中国家减贫与发展。从打井灌溉到修路架桥，从菌草栽培到杂交水稻，从重大标志性工程到“小而美”民生项目，越来越多全球南方国家民众生活得到改善，日子有了奔头。

Since the Belt and Road Initiative was implemented, it has helped over 40 million people get rid of poverty. Since the Global Development Initiative was put forward, it has pooled greater consensus for development, mobilized development funds at a large scale, made international cooperation on development better serve the interests of the Global South, and given a boost to developing countries’ poverty relief campaign and development. From digging wells for irrigation to building roads and bridges, from Juncao planting to hybrid rice, and from major flagship projects to “small and beautiful” livelihood programs, thanks to those efforts, more and more people in Global South countries are leading a better and promising life. 

我们率先启动共建“一带一路”合作，一大批标志性工程和“小而美”民生项目落地生根，产业投资合作积极推进，地区发展繁荣动力更加充足。我提出的中方同上海合作组织其他国家累计贸易额突破2.3万亿美元的目标提前实现。立体互联互通网络更加完善，成员国之间开通国际公路运输线路近1.4万公里，开行中欧班列累计超过11万列。

We were the first to launch Belt and Road cooperation. A large number of signature projects and “small and beautiful” livelihood projects have been successfully implemented, and industrial investment cooperation has been actively advanced, providing robust driving forces for development and prosperity across the region. China’s cumulative trade with other SCO countries has surpassed US$2.3 trillion, hitting ahead of schedule the target that I had set. Our multidimensional connectivity network has been further improved. Nearly 14,000 kilometers of international land transport routes are in operation among member states. And the China-Europe Railway Express has operated more than 110,000 train services.
