二是要有更可靠的安全保障。面对地缘冲突、强权霸凌持续冲击地区和平稳定，网络安全、生物安全等领域的新威胁新挑战不断涌现，各国很难独善其身，大家都安全才是真安全。只有进一步完善应对威胁和挑战的机制手段，才能更好为共同发展保驾护航。

Second, efforts to provide more reliable security safeguards. As we speak, geopolitical conflicts, power politics and acts of bullying continue to undermine regional peace and stability, while on such fronts as cyber security and biosecurity, new threats and new challenges continue to emerge. No country is immune, and the only true security is security for all. Only by further improving the mechanisms and tools to tackle threats and challenges can we provide better safeguards for common development.

二战的惨痛教训昭示世人，穷兵黩武、强权霸凌绝非和平之道，零和博弈、赢者通吃更非发展之途。唯有共同维护以联合国为核心的国际体系、以国际法为基础的国际秩序、以《联合国宪章》宗旨和原则为基础的国际关系基本准则，捍卫国际公平正义，持续推进平等有序的世界多极化和普惠包容的经济全球化，才能让《联合国宪章》序言中“欲免后世再遭战祸”的理想成为现实，真正实现人类社会的和平、稳定、进步与发展。

The painful lessons of WWII show that militarist aggression, power politics and bullying acts are definitely not the way of peace. Zero-sum game and the winner-takes-all mentality are not the path toward development. Only when all countries join hands to safeguard the international system with the UN at its core, the international order underpinned by international law and the basic norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, defend international fairness and justice, and keep pursuing an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, can the vision of “saving succeeding generations from the scourge of war” in the preamble of the UN Charter become a reality and can human society truly achieve peace, stability, progress and development.

Lin Jian: Recently, the U.S., disregarding the balance of interests reached through multilateral trade negotiations, has abused tariffs under the pretext of seeking reciprocity and fairness, which deals a heavy blow to the global economic order and the multilateral trading system, and seriously undermines the interests and well-being of all countries. Such act of unilateralism, power politics and bullying has also brought unprecedented difficulties and challenges to the United Nations and the cause of multilateralism.
