我们要建设发展繁荣的未来。世界发展到今天，各国不是乘坐在190多条小船上，而是乘坐在一条命运与共的大船上。小船经不起风浪，巨舰才能顶住惊涛骇浪。各国要共享发展机遇，谋求合作共赢。要坚持以人民为中心的发展思想，推动普惠包容的经济全球化，让人民享有发展成果，让各国实现共同繁荣。片面追求赢者通吃，只会满盘皆输；执迷打造“小院高墙”，只会禁锢自己、割裂世界。

Countries of the world need to build a future of development and prosperity. In today’s world, countries are not riding separately in some 190 small boats, but rather, we are all in a giant ship on which our shared destiny hinges. Small boats may not survive wind and waves, but a giant ship is strong enough to brave the stormy seas. Countries need to share development opportunities and pursue win-win cooperation. We need to follow a people-centered development philosophy and advocate a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, so as to deliver the fruits of development to our people and ensure common prosperity for all countries. A winner-takes-all approach is a sure way to lose the whole game, and the “small yard with high fences” would only imprison the builder and tear the world apart.

中国始终是现行国际秩序的维护者、真正多边主义的践行者。中方倡导和平发展，反对国强必霸；倡导合作共赢，反对赢者通吃；倡导文明互鉴，反对文明冲突；倡导公道公正，反对强权政治。中国相继提出共建“一带一路”倡议和全球发展倡议、全球安全倡议、全球文明倡议、全球治理倡议，为解决当今世界突出问题贡献了中国智慧和中国方案。中方期待同各方一道，共促繁荣、共赢未来，携手构建人类命运共同体。

China always upholds the current international order and practices true multilateralism. We embrace peaceful development, and reject the assertion that a strong country will inevitably seek hegemony. We champion win-win cooperation, and denounce winner-takes-all practices. We advocate mutual learning among civilizations, and do not believe in clash of civilizations. We promote fairness and justice, and oppose power politics. China has successively put forward the Belt and Road Initiative as well as the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative. They are China’s solutions to the salient issues across the world, based on Chinese wisdom. We look forward to working with all parties to promote common prosperity and a win-win future for all, and building a community with a shared future for humanity.

The painful lessons of WWII show that militarist aggression, power politics and bullying acts are definitely not the way of peace. Zero-sum game and the winner-takes-all mentality are not the path toward development. Only when all countries join hands to safeguard the international system with the UN at its core, the international order underpinned by international law and the basic norms governing international relations based on the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, defend international fairness and justice, and keep pursuing an equal and orderly multipolar world and a universally beneficial and inclusive economic globalization, can the vision of “saving succeeding generations from the scourge of war” in the preamble of the UN Charter become a reality and can human society truly achieve peace, stability, progress and development.
