I believe that with the concerted efforts of China and ASEAN, we will continue to make solid and sustained progress in our friendship and cooperation, and play a greater role in promoting peace, stability, prosperity and development in Asia.

今年是《巴黎协定》达成10周年。10年来，全球气候治理虽然历经风雨，但绿色低碳发展终成时代潮流。今年也是联合国成立80周年。当前，世界百年变局加速演进，人类社会走到新的十字路口。尽管个别大国热衷于单边主义、保护主义，对国际规则和国际秩序造成严重冲击，但历史总会在曲折中前进。只要我们坚定信心，加强团结合作，就一定能冲破逆流，推动全球气候治理和世界一切进步事业行稳致远。在此，我愿分享4点看法。

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. Over the past decade, global climate governance has gone through winds and rains, but green and low-carbon development has eventually become a trend of our times. This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. As unprecedented global changes unfold at a faster pace, humanity has come to a new crossroads. Although some major country’s persistent pursuit of unilateralism and protectionism has seriously impacted international rules and the international order, history will, as always, move forward through twists and turns. As long as we enhance confidence, solidarity and cooperation, we will overcome the headwinds and steadily move forward global climate governance and all progressive endeavors of the world. Let me share four points with you in this regard.

中方将同越方一道，认真落实两党两国最高领导人重要共识，赓续“越中情谊深、同志加兄弟”的传统友谊，按照“六个更”总体目标，高质量推动全面战略合作，共同捍卫国际公平正义，确保中越命运共同体建设行稳致远，为构建人类命运共同体作出新的更大贡献。

China will work with Viet Nam to implement the important common understandings between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, renew their long-standing friendship featuring “camaraderie plus brotherhood”, act in line with the overarching goals characterized by “six mores”, advance their comprehensive strategic cooperation with high-quality efforts, uphold international fairness and justice, ensure steady and sustained progress in building the China-Viet Nam community with a shared future, and make new and greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

中国同马来西亚是隔海相望的友好邻邦。海上丝绸之路见证了两国跨越千年的友好交往，“切水不断”的世代情谊随着历史演进愈益深厚。1300多年前，中国唐代义净法师渡海求法途经马来半岛，首次用文字记载下古吉打王国历史。600多年前，中国明代航海家郑和7次远洋航海中5次到访马六甲，播撒和平友谊种子，马六甲的三保庙、三宝山、三宝井承载着当地人民对他的深深怀念。80多年前，马来西亚南侨机工在中国人民抗日战争的关键时刻奔赴云南，帮助打通滇缅公路这条生命线。这些佳话至今仍在中马两国人民中广为传颂。抚今追昔，中马双方要共同努力，让这艘从历史长河中驶来的友谊之船再添动力、行稳致远。

China and Malaysia are friendly neighbors across the sea. The maritime Silk Road stood witness to the millennium-old friendly exchanges between our countries. As a Malay proverb puts it, air dicincang tidak akan putus, or “water can’t be cut apart.” Through the ages, such strong bonds of friendship between our peoples have grown from strength to strength. Over 1,300 years ago, Chinese Buddhist monk Yijing (636-713) of the Tang Dynasty traveled to the Malay Peninsula on his pilgrimage voyage and produced the earliest known written account of the ancient kingdom of Kedah. More than 600 years ago, Chinese navigator and explorer Zheng He (1371-1433) of the Ming Dynasty and his fleet called at Malacca during five of his seven historic expeditions. His visits planted seeds of peace and friendship. To this day, the Sam Po Kong Temple, Bukit Cina, and Princess Hang Li Poh’s Well endure as a living testament to the local community’s everlasting veneration of the legendary Chinese navigator. Some 80 years ago, when the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression reached a critical juncture, the Nanyang Volunteer Drivers and Mechanics from Malaysia braved immense dangers to reach China’s Yunnan Province, and helped keep the Burma Road operational, as it was a vital lifeline of China’s wartime supplies. Today this remarkable story of courage still echoes in the hearts of both peoples. As we honor our shared past and embrace the future, our two countries must work together to give fresh momentum to our ship of friendship that has sailed through the long river of history, and ensure that it forges ahead steadily toward brighter horizons.
