Embracing a Broader View and Cutting Through the Fog of Challenges to Advance High-Quality Development of Greater BRICS Cooperation

中方愿同金砖各国一道，开创“大金砖合作”高质量发展新局面，携手更多“全球南方”国家共同推动构建人类命运共同体！

China is willing to work with all BRICS countries to open a new horizon in the high-quality development of greater BRICS cooperation, and join hands with Global South countries in building a community with a shared future for mankind.

金砖合作机制诞生于全球南方群体性崛起的历史大潮中，符合国际社会对维护世界和平、促进共同发展、完善全球治理的期待，正在成为全球南方合作的“主心骨”、增长的“发动机”。此次会晤是金砖大家庭迎来新成员印尼和9个伙伴国后的首次外长会晤。中方愿同各方一道，携手构建更加全面、紧密、务实、包容的伙伴关系，为维护多边主义、捍卫公平正义作出金砖贡献，推动“大金砖合作”高质量发展。

The BRICS cooperation mechanism came into being amid the collective rise of the Global South, which meets the expectation of the international community to safeguard world peace, promote common development and improve global governance. BRICS is emerging as a backbone of cooperation and an engine of growth in the Global South. This will be the first meeting of BRICS ministers of foreign affairs / international relations after BRICS was joined by Indonesia as a new member and nine partner countries. China stands ready to work with other parties to jointly build a more comprehensive, close, practical and inclusive partnership, contribute to safeguarding multilateralism and defending justice and fairness, and advance the high-quality development of Greater BRICS Cooperation.

关于中国和巴西关系，我想指出，中国和巴西同为世界性大国和全球南方代表性力量，面对变乱交织的国际形势，保持战略定力，携手为促进世界和平、稳定、发展作出了积极贡献。中方愿同巴方一道，落实好两国元首共识，推动中巴各领域合作取得更多成果，践行真正的多边主义，维护联合国核心作用，捍卫全球南方国家的正当权益。中方也将支持巴西担任今年金砖国家主席国，共同推动“大金砖合作”不断取得新成果。

On relations between China and Brazil, I would like to point out that as two major countries in the world and representative members in the Global South, China and Brazil have maintained our strategic resolve and made active contributions to global peace, stability and development together in a volatile and turbulent world. China will work with Brazil to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of our countries, work for more outcomes in our cooperation across the board, practice true multilateralism, ensure the U.N.’s central role, and defend legitimate rights and interests of countries of the Global South. China supports Brazil’s BRICS presidency and will jointly move forward the greater BRICS cooperation.

金砖大家庭迎来新的伙伴国，标志着金砖机制的代表性进一步扩大，感召力和影响力更加彰显。中方愿同其他金砖成员和伙伴国一道，秉持开放包容、合作共赢的精神，拓展各领域务实合作，促进“大金砖合作”高质量发展，为推动构建人类命运共同体作出更大的“金砖贡献”。

New partner country joining the BRICS family demonstrates that the BRICS mechanism has greater representation, and BRICS sees its appeal and influence grow more salient. China stands ready to work with other BRICS members and partner countries to uphold the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, expand practical cooperation in various fields, advance the high-quality development of greater BRICS cooperation, and make greater contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
