面对世界经济的增长困境，各国如果只考虑自身利益最大化，不顾及他人利益，甚至不惜“开历史倒车”，搞“脱钩断链”、“小院高墙”，只会抬高经济运行成本、割裂地区之间经济联系、激化矛盾和纷争，把世界各国拖入争抢蛋糕而蛋糕越争越小的恶性循环。中国人常说“风物长宜放眼量”，在这种情况下，正确的选择应该是以更高远的视野、更宽广的胸襟来对待发展问题，在共同做大蛋糕中寻求自己的合理利益，既为世界经济注入持久动力，也为自身发展打开一片新天地。

Confronted with the growth predicament of the world economy, maximizing one’s own benefits at the expense of others’ interests, or resorting to regressive actions of decoupling, disrupting supply chains and building small yards with high fences would only push up operational costs, sever the economic links between regions and aggravate tensions and disputes. This would drag the world into a destructive spiral where the fierce competition for a larger slice ends up in a diminishing pie. As we Chinese often say, “Range far your eye over long vistas.” In the current context, the right choice is to approach development issues with a longer view and broader mind, and join hands with others to make the pie bigger while pursuing one’s legitimate interests. This is how we could sustain the growth of the world economy, and open new horizon for our own development.

历史教训十分深刻。日本右翼势力推动“再军事化”，已经对地区和世界和平与安宁构成威胁。中国同全世界爱好和平的国家与人民绝不允许日本右翼势力开历史倒车，绝不允许军国主义死灰复燃。

The painful lessons of history remind us that Japanese right-wing forces’ “remilitarization” attempt has posed a threat to regional and world peace and tranquility. China and all peace-loving countries and people in the world should never allow Japanese right-wing forces to turn back the wheel of history or allow the revival of militarism.

今年是中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年，也是台湾光复80周年。80年前，中国人民浴血奋战，打败日本帝国主义，从日本侵略者手中收回台湾等被窃取的领土，捍卫国家山河无恙和国际公理正义。80年后，中华民族伟大复兴势不可挡，我们绝不允许日本右翼势力开历史倒车，绝不允许外部势力染指中国台湾地区，绝不允许日本军国主义死灰复燃。日本军国主义是全世界人民的公敌。中方将同所有爱好和平的国家和人士共同维护二战胜利成果和战后国际秩序。我们敦促日方深刻反省历史，切实汲取教训，同军国主义彻底切割，以实际行动消除余毒。

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War as well as China’s recovery of Taiwan. Eighty years ago, the Chinese people, after heroic and strenuous fighting, defeated Japanese militarism, recovered the territories, including Taiwan, stolen by Japanese aggressors, defended national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and upheld international fairness and justice. Eighty years on, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is unstoppable. China will never allow Japan’s right-wing forces to turn back the wheel of history, never allow external forces to lay their hands on China’s Taiwan region, and never allow the resurgence of Japan’s militarism. Japanese militarism is the enemy of people worldwide. China will work with all peace-loving countries and people to jointly safeguard the outcomes of World War II victory and the post-war international order. We urge the Japanese side to deeply reflect on and learn from history, make a clean break with militarism, and take concrete actions to get rid of the specter of militarism that still haunts it.
