面对世界经济的增长困境，各国如果只考虑自身利益最大化，不顾及他人利益，甚至不惜“开历史倒车”，搞“脱钩断链”、“小院高墙”，只会抬高经济运行成本、割裂地区之间经济联系、激化矛盾和纷争，把世界各国拖入争抢蛋糕而蛋糕越争越小的恶性循环。中国人常说“风物长宜放眼量”，在这种情况下，正确的选择应该是以更高远的视野、更宽广的胸襟来对待发展问题，在共同做大蛋糕中寻求自己的合理利益，既为世界经济注入持久动力，也为自身发展打开一片新天地。

Confronted with the growth predicament of the world economy, maximizing one’s own benefits at the expense of others’ interests, or resorting to regressive actions of decoupling, disrupting supply chains and building small yards with high fences would only push up operational costs, sever the economic links between regions and aggravate tensions and disputes. This would drag the world into a destructive spiral where the fierce competition for a larger slice ends up in a diminishing pie. As we Chinese often say, “Range far your eye over long vistas.” In the current context, the right choice is to approach development issues with a longer view and broader mind, and join hands with others to make the pie bigger while pursuing one’s legitimate interests. This is how we could sustain the growth of the world economy, and open new horizon for our own development.

今年是中国人民抗日战争胜利80周年，也是台湾光复80周年。中方绝不允许日本右翼势力开历史倒车，绝不允许外部势力染指中国台湾地区，绝不允许日本军国主义死灰复燃。中方有决心、有能力捍卫国家领土主权。

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the recovery of Taiwan. China will never allow Japan’s right-wing provocateurs to turn back the wheel of history, never allow external forces to lay their hands on China’s Taiwan region, and never allow the resurgence of Japan’s militarism. China is resolved in and capable of defending national and territorial sovereignty. 

毛宁：不知道日方所称日本政府的“既有立场”究竟是什么。在台湾问题上，日本政府的立场应当是坚持一个中国原则，恪守中日四个政治文件精神，而不是刻意模糊，更不能开历史倒车。

Mao Ning: I’m not sure what exactly Japan meant by “the Japanese government’s existing position.” When it comes to the Taiwan question, the position of the Japanese government is supposed to be upholding the one-China principle and abiding by the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, instead of being deliberately ambiguous, and still less turning back the wheel of history.

今年是中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年，也是台湾光复80周年。《开罗宣言》《波茨坦公告》《日本投降书》等国际法文件都确认了中国对台湾的主权，台湾回归中国是世界反法西斯战争胜利的重要成果。联大第2758号决议从政治上、法律上、程序上彻底解决了包括台湾在内全中国在联合国的代表权问题，不仅郑重确认、充分体现了一个中国原则的“铁规矩”，也是维护国际秩序的“硬道理”。任何试图篡改历史事实、挑战联大第2758号决议的行径，不仅是在挑战中国的主权和领土完整，也是在挑战联合国权威，挑战二战后国际秩序，公然开历史倒车，十分荒谬，也十分危险。

This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and the restoration of Taiwan. International legal instruments, including the Cairo Declaration, the Potsdam Proclamation, and the Japanese Instrument of Surrender, have affirmed China’s sovereignty over Taiwan. Taiwan’s restoration to China is an important outcome of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. Once and for all, UNGA Resolution 2758 resolved, politically, legally and procedurally, the issue of the representation of the whole of China, including Taiwan, at the UN. It solemnly confirms and fully demonstrates that the one-China principle is not only the iron rule that must not be bent, but also an absolute principle that is part and parcel of the existing international order. Any attempt to tamper with historical facts or challenge Resolution 2758 amounts to challenges to China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the UN’s authority and the post-war international order. Such moves blatantly turn back the wheel of history. They are not only ridiculous but also extremely dangerous.
