Hua Chunying As we have said many times, the sanctions imposed by the US, the UK, Canada and the EU on relevant Chinese individuals and entities are utterly based on lies and false information. That is to say, the premise and basis for their sanctions against China are completely non-existent. It was based on malicious lies, rumors and false information that they've imposed the sanctions that severely undermine China's interests. We will not turn a blind eye to anything that undermines China's sovereignty, security and development interests, or impairs China's honor and dignity. We will make legitimate and necessary reactions. I also want to stress that it is the US, the UK, Canada and the EU that started provocation first. China was only acting in self-defence. China's response is legitimate, just and necessary.
