构建人类命运共同体理念为世界和平与发展事业提供强劲动力，实现向建设人类共同家园的历史跨越。习近平总书记指出，这一理念顺应和平、发展、合作、共赢的时代潮流，开辟了和平和进步的新境界。如何为变乱交织的世界注入更多稳定性和正能量，促进人类和平与发展事业，是国际社会共同面临的重大命题。构建人类命运共同体理念以人类前途为怀、以人民福祉为念，主张以和平发展超越冲突对抗，以共同安全取代绝对安全，以互利共赢摒弃零和博弈，以交流互鉴防止文明冲突，以生态建设呵护地球家园，建设持久和平、普遍安全、共同繁荣、开放包容、清洁美丽的世界，指明了世界各国人民的未来前途所在。在这一崇高目标指引下，中国携手各国推进高质量共建“一带一路”，搭建起世界上范围最广、规模最大的国际合作平台，开拓出一条通向共同发展的合作之路、机遇之路、繁荣之路。提出并推动落实全球发展倡议、全球安全倡议、全球文明倡议，为各国共谋发展、共筑安全、共兴文明汇聚广泛共识，形成强大合力。

The Vision of Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind has lent strong impetus to advancing world peace and development and represents a historical step toward building a common homeland for humanity. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that the Vision responds to the world’s prevailing trend of peace, development, cooperation and win-win, and opens up new prospects for peace and progress. A common question facing the international community is how to inject greater stability and positive energy into the changing and turbulent world and promote peace and development for humanity. The Vision focuses on the future of mankind and the well-being of the people. It advocates peace and development over conflict and confrontation, common security over absolute security, and mutually beneficial cooperation over zero-sum game. It calls for exchanges and mutual learning to prevent clash of civilizations, and champions ecological conservation to protect planet Earth. It aims to build an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world of lasting peace, universal security and shared prosperity. It has shown a way toward a common future for people of all countries. Guided by this noble goal, China has been working with partner countries to advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, making it the international cooperation platform that is broadest in coverage and largest in size. The BRI has become a pathway of cooperation, opportunity and prosperity, one that leads to common development. China has also proposed and is working to implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, bringing minds and hands together in the joint pursuit of development, security and advances in civilizations.

The Vision responds to the world’s prevailing trend of peace, development, cooperation and win-win, and opens up new prospects for peace and progress. China calls on all countries to bear in mind the future of humanity and the wellbeing of the people, and uphold their essential commitment to equality, mutual benefit and peaceful coexistence. We should all champion the common values of humanity, promote global governance that features extensive consultation and joint contribution for shared benefit, and cultivate a new type of international relations. We should all work together to implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative, advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and deliver more benefits to all peoples.

二是深刻阐释从和平共处五项原则到人类命运共同体“三个新”的弘扬升华。构建人类命运共同体理念是新形势下对和平共处五项原则最好的传承、弘扬、升华。这一理念立足于国与国命运交织、休戚与共的客观现实，树立了平等和共生的新典范；顺应和平、发展、合作、共赢的时代潮流，开辟了和平和进步的新境界；着眼世界多极化和经济全球化的历史大势，丰富了发展和安全的新实践。

The Vision captures the reality that all countries have a shared future and intertwined interests, and sets a new model of equality and coexistence for international relations. The Vision responds to the world’s prevailing trend of peace, development, cooperation and win-win, and opens up new prospects for peace and progress. The Vision keeps pace with the historic trend toward multipolarity and economic globalization, and inspires new ways to achieve development and security. 

当今时代，和平、发展、合作、共赢的时代潮流不可阻挡，构建人类命运共同体是世界各国人民前途所在。两项决议的通过充分体现了人心向背，证明这一理念符合国际社会共同期待、符合全人类共同利益，已得到绝大多数国家尤其是发展中国家的普遍支持和认同。个别国家出于意识形态考虑，屡屡罔顾国际共识，竭力抹黑和歪曲人类命运共同体理念，阻挠相关决议段落通过，完全是逆潮流而动，结果是注定的。

In our world today, peace, development and cooperation for shared benefits is an unstoppable trend and the future of all people lies in building a community of shared future for humankind. The approval of the two resolutions serves as a litmus test. It shows that the concept meets the common aspiration of the international community, serves the common interest of all humanity, and has gained the broad support and recognition of the vast majority of countries, especially developing countries. A handful of countries, based on ideological considerations, have time and again shown disregard for international consensus and tried everything they could to smear and misrepresent this concept and block the approval of relevant paragraphs of the resolutions. Such moves run counter to the overriding trend and it’s clear where they’ll end up.
