The friendship between China and Africa transcends time and space, surmounts mountains and oceans, and passes down through generations. The founding of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in 2000 was a milestone in the history of China-Africa relations. Over the past 24 years, especially in the new era, China has advanced forward hand in hand with our African brothers and sisters in the spirit of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith. We stand shoulder to shoulder with each other to firmly defend our legitimate rights and interests as once-in-a-century changes sweep across the world. We get stronger and more resilient together by riding the tide of economic globalization, delivering tangible benefits to billions of ordinary Chinese and Africans. We share weal and woe in fighting natural disasters and epidemics together, creating touching stories of China-Africa friendship. We always empathize with and support each other, setting a stellar example of a new type of international relations.

秦刚：你提到大国关系范式，这是观察中俄关系一个很好的视角。大国交往，是搞封闭排他的集团政治，还是坦坦荡荡的君子之交？中俄成功走出了一条大国战略互信、邻里友好的相处之道，树立了新型国际关系的典范。

Qin Gang: You mentioned the model for major-country relations. That is a good perspective for observing China-Russia relations. Major countries should figure out what they want with each other — building exclusive blocs, or fostering friendship that is open and sincere. China and Russia have found a path of major-country relations featuring strategic trust and good neighborliness, setting a good example for a new type of international relations.

汪文斌：中方高度赞赏普京总统在“瓦尔代”国际辩论俱乐部年会上对中俄关系的积极评价。今年是《中俄睦邻友好合作条约》签署20周年。20年来，在中俄两国元首的擘画引领下，双方始终坚持在“不结盟、不对抗、不针对第三国”的基础上发展长期睦邻友好和互利合作关系，始终做世界和平的建设者、全球发展的贡献者、国际秩序的维护者，树立了新型国际关系的典范。中俄两国不是盟友，胜似盟友。

Wang Wenbin: We highly appreciate President Putin's positive remarks on China-Russia relations at the plenary session of the annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation between China and Russia. During the past two decades, the two sides, under the leadership of our heads of state, have always worked to develop long-term good-neighborliness and mutually-beneficial cooperative relationship on the basis of non-alliance, non-confrontation and non-targeting of third countries. Our two countries have always been advocates of world peace, contributors to global development and defenders of international order, setting an example for a new type of international relations. China and Russia are not allies but closer than allies.
