党中央强调，生态文明建设是关乎中华民族永续发展的根本大计，保护生态环境就是保护生产力，改善生态环境就是发展生产力，决不以牺牲环境为代价换取一时的经济增长。必须坚持绿水青山就是金山银山的理念，坚持山水林田湖草沙一体化保护和系统治理，像保护眼睛一样保护生态环境，像对待生命一样对待生态环境，更加自觉地推进绿色发展、循环发展、低碳发展，坚持走生产发展、生活富裕、生态良好的文明发展道路。

The Central Committee has emphasized that ecological conservation is of vital importance for the sustainable development of the Chinese nation. To protect the environment is to protect the productive forces, and to improve the environment is to boost the productive forces. We must never sacrifice the environment in exchange for transient economic growth. We must stay true to the principle that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, continue our holistic approach to the conservation of mountain, river, forest, farmland, lake, grassland, and desert ecosystems, and protect and cherish our natural environment as we do our own lives. We must act with greater resolve to promote green, circular, and low-carbon development, and adhere to a model of sustainable development featuring increased production, higher living standards, and healthy ecosystems.

林剑：湿地与森林、海洋并称地球三大生态系统，对人类的生存发展至关重要。党的十八大以来，在习近平生态文明思想指引下，中国秉持“绿水青山就是金山银山”理念，推进湿地保护修复，取得历史性成就。目前中国湿地面积位居亚洲第一、世界第四，国际湿地城市总数居世界首位。

Lin Jian: Wetland, forest and ocean are the three major ecosystems on Earth and are vital for human beings to survive and thrive. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization, China has been advocating that clear waters and green mountains are as valuable as gold and silver, and has achieved historical results in wetlands conservation and restoration. China’s wetlands are the largest in Asia and the fourth biggest in the world, and China has the largest number of cities accredited as international wetland cities.

We will join hands with neighboring countries to build a beautiful home by strengthening exchanges on ecological conservation, practicing the philosophy that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and promoting sustainable development in the region. We will join hands with neighboring countries to build an amicable home by expanding cultural exchanges, promoting people-to-people connectivity, and consolidating the popular support for the vision of a community with a shared future with neighboring countries.

林剑：当前，中国发展与世界的联动性不断增强，中国的国际形象备受关注。我们注意到，这份调查显示，习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想获国际社会高度认同，“构建人类命运共同体”、“绿水青山就是金山银山”、“以人民为中心”、“全面深化改革”、“全面从严治党”等重要理念深入人心；深入贯彻中央八项规定精神、编制并实施五年规划等执政理念与经验广获国际好评；国际民意普遍看好中国经济增长，对中国文化、技术兴趣高，期待中国参与国际事务、改革完善全球治理，也希望本国与中国关系更加友好。

Lin Jian: China’s development is now increasingly interconnected with the world. China’s image in the world receives great attention. We noted that according to the survey, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is highly recognized. Important visions and philosophies, such as “building a community with a shared future for humanity,” “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” “putting people first,” “further deepening reform comprehensively,” and “advancing full and rigorous Party self-governance,” have been well-received. Visions and experience on governance, such as the in-depth implementation of the spirit of central Party leadership’s eight-point decision on improving work conduct and formulation and implementation of five-year plans for economic and social development, receive international acclaim. In the international community, there has been a positive outlook on China’s economic growth, great interest in China’s culture and technologies, expectation of China’s involvement in international affairs and reform and improvement of global governance, and hope that their country will have friendlier relations with China.
