党的十八大以来，全国八百三十二个贫困县全部摘帽，十二万八千个贫困村全部出列，近一亿农村贫困人口实现脱贫，提前十年实现联合国二〇三〇年可持续发展议程减贫目标，历史性地解决了绝对贫困问题，创造了人类减贫史上的奇迹。

Since the 18th National Congress, 832 counties, 128,000 villages, and nearly 100 million rural residents that fell below the current poverty line have been lifted out of poverty. China has thus achieved the poverty reduction target laid out in the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development ten years ahead of schedule, brought about a historic resolution to the problem of absolute poverty in China, and created a miracle in the human history of poverty reduction.

The Chinese people have the best say on the human rights situation in China. China made history by eliminating absolute poverty. We practice whole-process people’s democracy and provide the world’s largest education system, social security system and medical care system in China. The Chinese people’s sense of gain, happiness and security keeps getting stronger. We have found a path toward better human rights that reflects the trend of the times and fits our national realities. A Harvard University survey conducted over a period of more than 10 years straight shows that the Chinese government’s satisfaction rate among the people stayed above 90 percent. 

中国人类发展指数不断攀升，是中国共产党践行以人民为中心的发展思想，将人置于现代化发展核心位置的结果。改革开放以来，中国减贫人口全球占比超过70%，历史性地解决了绝对贫困问题，提前10年实现联合国2030年可持续发展议程减贫目标。中国居民人均预期寿命升至78.2岁，年人均可支配收入达到近4万元，已形成超过4亿人的世界规模最大、最具成长性的中等收入群体。中国还建成了世界上规模最大的教育体系、社会保障体系、医疗卫生体系，中国人民的获得感、幸福感、安全感不断提升。随着中国式现代化不断推进，中国人民对美好生活的向往将不断变为新的现实，中国人民的生活水平和质量将进一步提升。

The increase of China’s HDI is a result of the Communist Party of China practicing the people-centered development philosophy and putting the people at the core of the modernization endeavor. Since the beginning of reform and opening up, the population lifted out of poverty in China has accounted for over 70 percent of the world’s total. China has made the historic achievement of eliminating absolute poverty and realized the poverty reduction target of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development 10 years ahead of schedule. Chinese people’s average life expectancy has increased to 78.2 years, per capita annual disposal income has reached close to RMB 40,000, and the country has the world’s largest and most promising middle-income group totaling over 400 million people. China has also set up the world’s largest education system, social security system and medical care system. The Chinese people now have an increasingly greater sense of gains, happiness and security. Chinese modernization, with its continued progress, will turn the Chinese people’s aspiration for a better life into reality, and improve the Chinese people’s living standard and quality.

经过八年持续努力，近1亿农村贫困人口实现脱贫，全国832个贫困县全部摘帽，960多万贫困人口实现易地搬迁，历史性地解决了绝对贫困问题。

Thanks to eight years of continued efforts, close to 100 million poor rural residents and a total of 832 impoverished counties were lifted from poverty, including more than 9.6 million poverty-stricken people relocated from inhospitable areas. We have thus, once and for all, resolved the problem of absolute poverty in China.
