Gun-related injuries and deaths have added strain to the US health care system that is already overwhelmed by COVID-19. Gun violence has become another ghost haunting the Americans in addition to COVID-19, threatening their lives and safety. The US government should shoulder its responsibility to the people and earnestly take effective measures to resolve the gun violence issue. With such a deplorable human rights track record, the US should first and foremost get its own house in order rather than preoccupy itself with criticizing other countries’ human rights conditions.

关于第二个问题，中方始终根据事情本身的是非曲直决定自身的立场和政策，一贯反对越过国际法和联合国授权对他国实施单边制裁。制裁不是解决问题的有效手段，反而会加速乌克兰危机外溢，带来新的复杂问题。中方呼吁各方多做鼓励和促进和谈的事，为政治解决开辟空间。有关国家在处理乌克兰问题和对俄关系时，不得以任何方式损害中方正当权益。
On your second question, China decides its position and policy based on the merits of the matter itself and opposes the imposition of unilateral sanctions on other countries circumventing international law and without UN mandate. Sanctions are not an effective means to resolve the issue and will only accelerate the spill-over of the Ukraine crisis and bring new complications. China calls on all parties to do more to encourage and promote peace talks and create space for political settlement. When handling the Ukraine issue and relations with Russia, relevant countries shall not harm China’s legitimate rights and interests in any way.
