Fourth, what China defends is international fairness and justice. We Chinese are a people that uphold justice and are not intimidated by force. We welcome helpful suggestions and constructive criticism. We will not, however, accept sanctimonious preaching from those who feel they have the right to lecture us. We will remain committed to the path that we have chosen for ourselves. China will not infringe upon other countries’ sovereignty or interfere in other countries’ internal affairs. Neither will we allow other countries to do that to us. This is not only to protect China’s legitimate rights and interests, but also to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the vast developing world and the basic norms governing international relations.

People’s Daily According to reports, in a letter published by The Lancet on July 5, 24 internationally-renowned scientists rebuked the so-called “lab leak” theory some US politicians are trying to sell. They said that “the strongest clue from new, credible, and peer-reviewed evidence in the scientific literature is that the virus evolved in nature, while suggestions of a laboratory-leak source of the pandemic remain without scientifically validated evidence”. Do you have any comment?
汪文斌我注意到有关报道。世卫组织联合专家组报告也明确指出，病毒从实验室泄漏极不可能。但令人遗憾的是，一个时期以来我们看到，美方一些人士在溯源问题上搞政治操弄越来越露骨。从抹黑中国抗疫成就到鼓吹中国“实验室泄漏论”，从诋毁世卫组织联合专家组权威报告到打压秉持客观立场的科学工作者和专家，从动用情报部门介入溯源到推动开展把中国排除在外的所谓“独立调查”。这些人的目的只有一个，就是借此把自身抗疫失败的责任转嫁到中国身上。
Wang Wenbin I note reports on that. The joint WHO-China study report clearly states that "a laboratory origin of the pandemic was considered to be extremely unlikely". Regrettably, we’ve seen for quite a while that some in the US are engaging in more and more overt political manipulation. From discrediting China’s anti-epidemic achievement to hyping up the China “lab leak” theory, from vilifying the authoritative joint WHO study report to muffling scientists and experts upholding objectivity, from drawing on intelligence apparatus to investigate to clamoring for a so-called independent investigation that excludes China, these people have but one aim: to shift the blame for their failed epidemic responses to China.
无论这些人怎样变换政治操弄的手法，事实都不会改变：导致60多万美国民众失去生命的，正是那些无视科学、把抗疫政治化的美国政客。
With all their sleight of hand at political manipulation, they cannot alter the fact that it is the US politicians who dismiss science and politicize epidemic response that should be held accountable for the loss of more than 600,000 American lives.
世卫组织联合专家组作出的权威结论也不会改变：溯源工作应基于全球视野，未来溯源工作不会局限于某一区域，需要多国多地开展。
Nor can they alter the authoritative conclusion reached by the WHO joint team that a global perspective is needed to carry out traceability research studies in multiple countries and regions instead of one area only.
国际社会尊重科学、坚持正义的大势更不会改变。把病毒溯源政治化、向别国甩锅推责的企图只会以失败告终。
The international community respects science and upholds justice. This trend will not change, either. Attempts to politicize study of origins to scapegoat other countries will only end up in failure.

Wang Wenbin We’ve stressed on multiple occasions that allegations of the so-called “forced labor” and “human rights abuses” are lies of the century concocted by a handful of anti-China individuals.
