The illegal sanctions imposed by certain Western countries on Zimbabwe have lasted for over 20 years. The practice is a typical example of hegemonism. It seriously violates Zimbabwe’s national sovereignty, undermines Zimbabwean people’s right to development, and hurts international fairness and justice. China has supported the just aspiration of Zimbabwe and other African friends in various ways for eight consecutive years. China solemnly calls on certain Western countries to immediately remove the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe, and take responsible and concrete actions to develop the economy and improve people’s livelihoods there.
