赵立坚中方对此次事故高度重视。习近平主席于30日向韩国总统尹锡悦致电慰问，代表中国政府和人民，对遇难者表示深切哀悼，向遇难者家属和伤者致以诚挚的慰问。李克强总理也向韩国总理韩德洙表示慰问。事故发生后，外交部第一时间启动领事保护应急机制，部署驻韩国使馆核实情况，协调韩方尽最大努力做好中国公民的救治和协助工作。驻韩使馆已经与涉事人员国内亲属取得联系并积极提供协助。韩方表示将提供相应便利。
