Since COVID-19 broke out, China has always been a pacesetter in global anti-epidemic cooperation, a champion for the equitable distribution of vaccines, and a doer in honoring COVID-related commitments. Since last year, President Xi Jinping has put forward the vision of building a global community of health for all, the Global Vaccine Cooperation Action Initiative, and the Global Development Initiative, which have pointed the way for advancing international vaccine cooperation and strengthening global epidemic prevention and control and boosted confidence.

Since COVID-19 began, China and Brazil have had sound cooperation in fighting the pandemic. Chinese vaccines have played a positive role in Brazilians’ COVID response, which has been commended and welcomed by all sectors in Brazil. In February 2021, a large-scale trial was conducted by the Butantan Institute in the Brazilian town of Serrana using vaccines manufactured by Sinovac. After residents of the town received two doses, the data indicated a significant decrease of 80% in symptomatic cases, 95% in deaths and 86% in hospitalizations. The Butantan Institute said that Sinovac’s vaccines remain safe and effective in large-scale inoculation in Brazil, remain effective despite high mobility, and provide protection for the entire population. We stand ready to work together with the Brazilian side to continue making relentless efforts to defeat the pandemic at an early date.

汪文斌当前台海局势面临紧张，根源就在于民进党当局勾连外部势力不断进行谋“独”挑衅，拒不认同一个中国原则，企图改变两岸同属一个中国的现状。我们正告台湾当局，任何逆历史潮流、“以武拒统”的图谋都必将遭到全体中国人民的反对，注定是螳臂当车，只会以失败告终。
Wang Wenbin The root cause of the current tensions across the Taiwan Strait is that the DPP authorities have been colluding with foreign forces to seek independence and make provocations. They refuse to recognize the one-China principle and attempt to change the status quo that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one and the same China. We want to make it clear to the Taiwan authorities that any attempt to go against the trend of history or to use military force to resist reunification is bound to be rejected by all Chinese people and become futile. Such attempts are doomed to fail.
关于第二个问题，在各方共同努力下，伊朗核问题全面协议恢复履约谈判日前在维也纳重启。谈判虽未能取得突破性进展，但各方均明确表达了致力于达成协议的意愿，这对于确保伊核问题沿着对话谈判的正确轨道发展具有重要意义。中方赞赏欧盟为推动谈判所作努力，鼓励欧盟继续开展外交斡旋。
On your second question, with the concerted efforts of parties, the negotiations on resuming compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal have resumed recently in Vienna. Although no breakthrough is achieved, parties have explicitly expressed their readiness to reach an agreement, which is of important significance for keeping the Iranian nuclear issue on the right track of dialogue and negotiations. China appreciates the EU’s effort to advance the talks and encourage it to continue diplomatic mediation efforts.
当前，各方已就全面协议恢复履约安排绝大部分内容达成共识，仅有个别问题需进一步协商解决。我们呼吁各方坚持对话谈判的大方向，加大外交努力，积极寻求未决问题的解决方案。美方作为伊核危机的始作俑者，理应认清形势，尽早作出政治决断，积极回应伊方合理关切，推动谈判早日取得成果。所有各方均应谨言慎行，为谈判创造良好氛围。
At this point, parties have reached consensus on the overwhelming majority of the arrangement concerning the resumption of compliance, and only a few issues are left to be ironed out. We call on the parties concerned to stay committed to the approach of dialogue and negotiation and step up diplomatic efforts to actively seek solutions to outstanding issues. The US, as the one who started the Iranian nuclear crisis, needs to get a clear sense of where things are headed, make the political decision sooner rather than later, respond positively to Iran’s reasonable concerns and enable the negotiations to produce results at an early date. All parties concerned should speak and act prudently and create a favorable atmosphere for the negotiations.
中方将继续积极参与谈判，为推动全面协议重返正轨作出贡献。同时，我们也将坚定维护自身合法权益。
China will be actively involved in future negotiations and contribute to bringing the JCPOA back on track. We will at the same time resolutely uphold our own lawful rights and interests.
