Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory. Japan bears historical guilt to the Chinese people on the Taiwan question. Japan needs to act and speak with extra prudence, refrain from meddling in the cross-Strait situation in any way, and not send wrong signals to “Taiwan independence” forces in any form. The Japanese side needs to do more things that would enhance mutual trust among regional countries and promote regional peace and stability.
