As I said, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Jeremiah Manele, on behalf of the governments of China and Solomon Islands respectively, officially signed the inter-governmental framework agreement on security cooperation between the two countries the other day.

总台国广记者中国海关统计数据显示，今年一季度，中国对RCEP其他14个成员国进出口总值同比增长6.9%，占同期中国外贸总值的30.4%。当季，中国与韩国、马来西亚、新西兰等多个国家进出口同比增速超过两位数。中方对此有何评论？
CRI According to the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), China’s trade with the other 14 member states of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership expanded 6.9 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, accounting for 30.4 percent of China’s total foreign trade. In the same period, China’s trade with countries including the ROK, Malaysia and New Zealand recorded double-digit growth. Do you have any comment?

Wang Wenbin The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is an important milestone in East Asian economic integration and marks a major step in promoting global trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. In addition to preferential tariff treatment, RCEP sets a benchmark for economic and trade rules in Asia-Pacific in terms of rules of origin, customs procedures and inspection and quarantine, giving a strong boost to regional economic integration with a higher quality and at a deeper level.
生效实施三个月以来，RCEP为推动域内国家经济复苏和繁荣发展、维护区域和平稳定发挥了实实在在的重要作用，广泛惠及各国企业与民众。对此，域内国家各界人士普遍予以积极评价。
Since its entry into force three months ago, RCEP has played an important role in and made tangible contributions to boosting regional countries’ economic recovery, prosperity and development and maintaining peace and stability in the region. It has delivered benefits to companies and people in all participating countries. This has been commended by people in all sectors from countries in the region.
