As China has embarked on a new journey of fully building a modern socialist country and GCC countries are actively advancing social and economic development across the board, the relations between China and GCC countries are standing at a new historical starting point with broad prospects ahead. Wang Wenbin The Chinese people feel deeply for the plight of the Afghan people. Although US troops have withdrawn from Afghanistan, the aftereffects of the 20-year-long military occupation linger with increasing severity. As the culprit of the Afghan crisis, the US should not simply take to its heels and be done with it, let alone slap unilateral sanctions to make things worse for Afghanistan’s economy and livelihood. We urge the US to face squarely and reflect upon its mistakes, assume its due international responsibilities, unfreeze Afghanistan’s assets and lift unilateral sanctions as soon as possible, and strive to undo the damage it inflicted on the Afghan people with concrete actions, instead of rubbing salt in their wounds.

对于肖肖尼部落等美国印第安原住民的遭遇，我深表同情。历史上，美国从肉体、土地、文化等各个方面对印第安人进行屠杀、驱逐、同化，全方位、系统化侵犯印第安人人权，犯下罄竹难书的罪行，早已构成事实上的种族灭绝。时至今日，美国政府不但没有痛定思痛、反省错误，反而变换形式，继续严重侵犯印第安人的生命权、健康权等基本人权。美国印第安人的历史和现实遭遇揭开了美式人权的真实面目，那就是：剥夺他人人权、满足自身利益。

I sympathize with the Shoshone people and other Native American tribes for what they have endured. Throughout history, the US slaughtered, expelled and assimilated Native Americans physically, geographically and culturally, committing systemic human rights abuses in every aspect. These abhorrent crimes are more than enough to constitute de facto genocide. Till this day, the US government has yet to reflect soberly on its past wrongs. On the contrary, it continues to violate Native Americans’ basic rights including the right to life and health in different ways. The past and current conditions of the Native Americans reveal the truth about US-style democracy, namely, depriving others of their human rights to serve its own interests.
