He also said that China and Pakistan were connected, not only in the past and present, but would remain united through their future generations too. What is your comment on this?

中巴经济走廊作为“一带一路”先行先试项目，自启动以来有力促进巴经济发展和民生改善，产生积极经济社会效应。中方愿同巴方携手努力，共同落实好两国领导人共识，聚焦产业、农业、科技、社会、民生等合作，不断释放走廊促增长、惠民生的积极效应，将走廊打造成“一带一路”高质量发展示范工程。中方将一如既往支持中资企业在巴投资兴业，为走廊建设和两国经贸合作作出贡献。

CPEC, as a pilot project of the BRI, has effectively promoted Pakistan’s economic development and improvement of people’s livelihood and has produced positive socioeconomic effects since inception. China is ready to work with Pakistan in implementing the consensus of the two leaders, focus on industrial, agricultural, scientific and technological, social and livelihood cooperation, keep unleashing CPEC’s positive effects on driving growth and bettering people’s lives, and build CPEC into a demonstration program of high-quality development under the BRI. China will always support Chinese companies in investing and developing in Pakistan to make contribution to CPEC and China-Pakistan economic and trade cooperation.

Zhao Lijian The establishment of China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership jointly announced by President Xi Jinping and ASEAN leaders is the most important outcome and the biggest highlight of the commemorative summit. As ASEAN leaders stressed at the summit, China and ASEAN have become the most comprehensive, substantive and mutually beneficial strategic partners since they established their dialogue relations 30 years ago. The establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership is natural and logical given the fact that China-ASEAN relations are developing at a high level. It also sets a higher goal for the development of bilateral relations, and helps strengthen mutual strategic trust and comprehensive cooperation.

《中国日报》记者据报道，11月21日，委内瑞拉举行地方选举。委国家选举委员会宣布，根据99.2%的计票结果，执政党赢得24个州的18个州长职位。激进反对派领袖瓜伊多拒绝承认选举结果。美国国务卿布林肯质疑委内瑞拉执政党操纵选举并限制反对派公平参选，不承认选举结果代表委内瑞拉的民意，重申美方支持所谓委“临时总统”瓜伊多，并将继续通过外交和经济手段敦促委内瑞拉政府释放政治犯、保障委内瑞拉人民基本人权。拉美选举专家委员会等多个国际观察员组织对选举过程的透明度和可靠性予以肯定。欧盟选举观察团尚未对选举结果发表评论。中方对此有何评论？  

China Daily According to reports, local elections were held in Venezuela on November 21. The National Electoral Council of Venezuela announced that 99.2 percent of the votes had been counted, showing that candidates of the ruling party won the governorship in 18 states out of 24. Radical opposition leader Juan Guaidó refused to acknowledge the results. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken accused the ruling party of skewing the election and restricting the opposition’s fair participation, saying the elections couldn’t reflect the will of the Venezuelan people. He also reiterated support for the so-called “Interim President” Juan Guaidó and said that the US will continue to use all diplomatic and economic tools available to press for the release of all those detained for political reasons and the fundamental human rights of the Venezuelan people. President of the Council of Electoral Experts of Latin America and many other international observer groups recognized the elections as transparent and reliable. The European Union’s Election Observation Mission hasn’t made any comment on the results yet. I wonder if you have any comment?

China is consistently committed to the principle of non-interference in other countries’ internal affairs. We believe the Venezuelan government and people are capable of properly handling their domestic affairs. China calls on all sides to respect Venezuela’s democratic system and practice and its people’s independent choice, and play a constructive role in the political settlement of the Venezuela issue.
