The New York Times said the situation "may strike another blow to US credibility" among US allies. What is your comment?
华春莹我注意到这几天国际社会普遍高度关注当前阿富汗局势以及美国对当前阿富汗局势所负责任。美国对阿政策是否已经失败，美国盟友是否认为美国靠不住，我想美方和其他国家都会做出自己的思考和结论。
Hua Chunying I have noticed the world pays great attention to the current situation in Afghanistan and the US responsibility in this regard. The US power and role is destructive rather than constructive. As State Councilor Wang Yi stressed in his phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken last night, facts have proved again that military intervention and power politics win no support and are doomed to fail. A model copied from another country can hardly fit or stand in a country with distinctively different history, culture and national conditions. Solving problems with power and military means would only lead to even more problems.

I also noticed President Biden said in his remarks that he will not repeat the mistake of doubling down on a civil war in a foreign country, or attempting to remake a country through the endless military deployments of US forces. We hope the US could seriously reflect on its willful military intervention and belligerent policy, stop usingdemocracy and human rights as an excuse to arbitrarily interfere in other countries' internal affairs and undermine peace and stability in other countries and regions.

华春莹世界上只有一个中国。台湾是中国领土不可分割的一部分。中华人民共和国政府是代表全中国的唯一合法政府。42年前，中美正是在一个中国原则基础上建立了外交关系。39年前的今天，中美共同发表“八·一七”公报。美方在公报中明确承诺，不寻求执行一项长期向台湾出售武器的政策，美售台武器在性能和数量上将不超过中美建交后近几年的供应水平，准备逐步减少向台湾出售武器，并经过一段时间导致最后的解决。“八·一七”公报和上海公报、建交公报等三个中美联合公报构成中美关系的政治基础，其核心要义都是一个中国原则。美方理应严格遵守。
Hua Chunying There is but one China in the world. Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory. The People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. It was on the basis of the one-China principle that China and the US established diplomatic ties 42 years ago.On this day 39years ago, China and the US jointly issued the August 17 Communiqué. The US side pledged that it does not seek to carry out a long-term policy of arms sales to Taiwan, that its arms sales to Taiwan will not exceed, either in qualitative or in quantitative terms, the level of those supplied in recent years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United States and China, and that it intends gradually to reduce its sale of arms to Taiwan, leading, over a period of time, to a final resolution. The August 17 Communiqué, the Shanghai Communiqué and the China-US Joint Communiqué constitute the political foundation of China-US relations, and their core essence is the one-China principle, which the US side should strictly abide by.

But what we see is the fact that the US side has kept breaching its own commitment. It has engaged in official exchanges with the Taiwan region, sold arms to Taiwan and helped it to expand the so-called international space. Let's take US arms sales to Taiwan as an example. Over the past 39 years, the total amount of arms sales to Taiwan by successive US administrations has hit as high as nearly $70 billion. The Trump administration alone has sold arms to Taiwan 11 times in four years, totaling $18.3 billion. Not long ago, the Biden administration announced its first arms sale deal to Taiwan, approving a $750 million weapons sale to Taiwan. In response to all the wrong moves on the US side, the Chinese side has made strong and resolute reactions to firmly safeguard its sovereignty and security interests.
