Wang Wenbin On April 16, President Xi Jinping attended the China-France-Germany summit via video link with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel upon invitation. The three leaders had in-depth exchanges on climate change, China-Europe relations, anti-epidemic cooperation and other major international and regional issues. They reached important consensus as follows:
一是坚持多边主义，全面落实应对气候变化《巴黎协定》，共同构建公平合理、合作共赢的全球气候治理体系，推动领导人气候峰会取得积极、平衡、务实成果；
First, it is important to uphold multilateralism, fully implement the Paris Agreement on tackling climate change, and jointly build an equitable and reasonable global climate governance system for win-win cooperation, and promote this summit to achieve positive, balanced, and pragmatic results.
二是加强气候政策对话和绿色发展领域务实合作，将应对气候变化打造成中欧合作的重要支柱；
Second, it is important to strengthen climate policy dialogue and green development cooperation, and make climate cooperation an important pillar in China-Europe cooperation.
三是统筹办好昆明《生物多样性公约》第十五次缔约方大会、格拉斯哥《联合国气候变化框架公约》第二十六次缔约方大会、马赛第七届世界自然保护大会等重要多边议程，打造全球环境治理新格局；
Third, it is important to ensure success in holding multilateral meetings including the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in Kunming, the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Glasgow, and the 7th International Union for Conservation of Nature's World Conservation Congress in Marseilles to create a new architecture for global environmental governance.
四是加强国际疫苗合作，支持“新冠肺炎疫苗实施计划”，促进人员健康安全有序往来，维护产业链顺畅稳定，推动国际经贸合作早日恢复正常；
Fourth, it is important to enhance vaccine cooperation, support COVAX, promote the healthy, safe and orderly personnel exchanges, safeguard the smooth and stable operation of industrial chains and bring the international economic and trade cooperation back to normal at an early date.
五是支持发展中国家能源供给向高效、清洁、多元化方向发展，支持非洲实现绿色发展，帮助非洲建设更多风电、太阳能发电等可再生能源项目。
Fifth, it is important to support developing countries in making their energy supply more efficient, clean and diversified, support Africa in achieving green development and help Africa build more renewable energy projects such as wind and solar power projects.
此次峰会是继2019年3月巴黎会晤和2020年12月视频会晤以来，中法德领导人第三次共同举行会晤，体现了三方就共同关心的重大问题进行战略沟通的意愿。正如习近平主席指出的，中欧关系面临新的发展机遇，也面临新的挑战；要从战略高度牢牢把握中欧关系发展大方向和主基调。我想强调的是，中欧是伙伴不是对手，双方共识远大于分歧，合作远大于竞争。中欧作为多极世界的两支重要力量，在解决国际地区问题和应对全球性挑战等诸多问题上负有重要责任。中欧双方应在相互尊重、平等相待的基础上，加强协调合作，妥善管控分歧，走出一条大国相互尊重、公平正义、合作共赢的相处之道。
This is the third China-France-Germany summit. The previous two were held in March 2019 in Paris and December 2020 via video link. It shows the willingness of the three countries to have strategic communication over major issues of common concern. As pointed out by President Xi Jinping, China-Europe relationship is faced with new development opportunities, as well as new challenges; we need to keep to the general direction and keynote of the relationship from a strategic height. I must stress that China and Europe are partners, not opponents. We have far more consensus than differences, and far more cooperation than competition. China and Europe, as two important forces in a multipolar world, bear important responsibilities in addressing international and regional issues and tackling global challenges. On the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment, China and Europe need to step up coordination and cooperation, properly manage differences and explore a path for major countries to get along in the spirit of mutual respect, fairness, justice, and win-win cooperation.
