Guo Jiakun To continue facilitating cross-border travel between China and Russia, China has decided to extend visa-free policy to Russia to December 31, 2027. Ordinary passport holders from Russia can be exempted from visa to enter China and stay for no more than 30 days for business, tourism, family/friends visit, exchange and transit purposes.

Guo Jiakun This morning, President Xi Jinping held a welcoming ceremony for Russian President Vladimir Putin who is on a state visit to China upon invitation. The two presidents held small and large group talks to have strategic communication on a series of major issues. They agreed to further extend the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation.

郭嘉昆5月11日至19日，2026年亚太经合组织（APEC）第二次高官会及相关会议在上海举行。外交部副部长马朝旭出席高官会开幕式并致辞。本次会议承前启后，对今年APEC合作进行了年中盘点，汇总了早期收获，为11月领导人会议酝酿和积累成果。会议期间共举办近40场活动和会议，涉及贸易投资、经济技术合作、妇女、电信、食品安全等多个领域。来自各成员经济体以及APEC秘书处、观察员、工商咨询理事会等1000余位代表与会。与会各方高度赞赏中方担任东道主以来推进APEC合作取得的积极进展，表示将继续支持中方办会，共同推动APEC“中国年”取得丰硕成果。
Guo Jiakun The second APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM2) were held in Shanghai from May 11 to 19. Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu attended and addressed the opening session of the Senior Officials’ Meeting. SOM2 builds on past progress by taking stock of APEC cooperation in the first half of this year and gathering early harvests, and aims for new achievements by preparing and collecting outcomes for the leaders’ meeting in November. Close to 40 meetings and activities were held, covering trade and investment, economic and technological cooperation, women, telecommunication, food security and other areas. More than 1,000 representatives from member economies, the APEC Secretariat, APEC observers and the APEC Business Advisory Council participated in the meetings. They spoke highly of the positive progress of APEC cooperation since China took on the host of APEC, and reaffirmed their continued support for China in hosting APEC meetings, and their readiness to jointly work for fruitful outcomes in the APEC “China Year.”
