Guo Jiakun Thirty years ago, China successfully hosted the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, organized by the United Nations. Ten years ago, in an effort to commemorate the Fourth World Conference on Women and further implement the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the Chinese government co-hosted the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment with UN Women at the UN headquarters in New York. Five years ago, President Xi Jinping proposed holding another global leaders’ meeting on women in 2025.
