The Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) was successfully held, after which bilateral relations between China and all African countries having diplomatic ties with China were elevated to the level of strategic relations and the overall characterization of China-Africa relations was elevated to an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. Could you tell us what are the highlights of China-Africa cooperation over the past year and your outlook for China-Africa relations in the year to come?

Mao Ning In 2024, China-Africa relations have continued to produce fruitful results despite an international landscape featuring transformation and instability.
我们见证了中非友好大家庭的大团聚，非洲所有53个建交国领导人、非盟委员会主席、联合国秘书长等近6000名中外嘉宾齐聚北京，出席中非合作论坛北京峰会。
We’ve witnessed the grand friendly gathering of the big China-Africa family. Nearly 6,000 guests from both at home and abroad, including leaders of all the 53 African countries having diplomatic ties with China, Chairperson of the African Union Commission and UN Secretary-General, came to Beijing to attend the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

The adoption of the Beijing Declaration at the FOCAC Beijing Summit made a voice of justice that opposes hegemonism, bloc confrontation and decoupling and severing of supply chains.
展望2025年，我们愿积极落实中非合作论坛北京峰会成果和中非领导人重要共识，同非洲国家一道，加强政策和发展战略对接，深化各领域互利合作，密切人文交流，在涉及彼此核心利益和重大关切问题上继续坚定相互支持，不断丰富新时代全天候中非命运共同体的内涵，携手维护全球南方共同利益和国际公平正义，促进世界和平与发展。
Looking ahead into the year 2025, we stand ready to deliver on the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and the important common understandings of the Chinese and African leaders, work together with African countries to form stronger synergy between our policies and development strategies, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, have closer cultural and people-to-people exchanges and continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and of major concerns, continue to add new dimensions to the all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era, jointly uphold the shared interest of the Global South and international justice and fairness and make new contributions to promoting world peace and development.

AFP Yesterday, the World Health Organization (WHO) called on China to share COVID-19 data and provide access to help understand the origins of the virus. They called it a moral and scientific imperative. Does the Foreign Ministry have any response to this call from WHO?
毛宁5年前新冠疫情暴发后，中国第一时间向世卫组织和国际社会分享疫情信息和病毒基因序列，毫无保留地分享防控和诊疗经验，为国际社会抗击疫情作出了巨大贡献。
Mao Ning Since the outbreak of COVID-19 five years ago, China has shared information on the outbreak and genome sequence of the virus with WHO and the international community at the earliest time possible, and has shared with others our control and clinical experience without reservation, making great contribution to the global effort of fighting against COVID-19.
在新冠病毒溯源问题上，中国始终秉持科学、开放、透明精神，积极支持参与全球科学溯源，同时坚决反对任何形式的政治操弄。中国是迄今唯一多次邀请世卫组织国际专家组到本国开展新冠病毒溯源合作的国家，也是唯一多次组织专家同世卫组织分享溯源进展的国家。在新冠病毒溯源问题上，中国分享的数据和研究成果最多，为全球溯源研究作出的贡献最大。世卫组织国际专家也多次表示，在华考察期间去了所有想去的地方，见了所有想见的人，看了所有想看的材料，中方的开放透明超乎预期。
On the origins-tracing of COVID-19, China follows the spirit of science, openness, and transparency, actively supports and participates in global science-based origins-tracing, and firmly opposes any form of political manipulation. China is the only country that has invited more than once WHO expert groups to come into the country to conduct joint origins study. China is also the only country that has organized multiple events for its experts to share progress on origins-tracing with WHO. On the origins-tracing of COVID-19, China has shared more data and research findings and contributed more to worldwide COVID-19 origins study than any other country. WHO experts said on multiple occasions that the Chinese side granted full access to all sites, personnel and material they requested when conducting study in China, and that the level of openness and transparency in China is what they hadn’t expected.
