Wang Wenbin President Joko Widodo is the first foreign head of state to visit China since the Beijing Olympic Winter Games, and China will be the first stop on his first trip to East Asia since the onset of COVID-19. This fully shows the high importance both countries attach to bilateral ties. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with President Joko Widodo and Premier Li Keqiang will meet with him, and they will have an in-depth exchange of views focusing on bilateral relations and major regional and international issues.

China News Service The first railway route of the China-Europe freight trains recently witnessed the 10,000th trip. Despite disruption in global circulation and insufficient freight capacity this year, the China-Europe freight service has done quite well. What is your comment on this?
汪文斌今年以来，在新冠肺炎疫情蔓延和国际局势动荡的背景下，中欧班列克服多重困难，保持安全稳定运行，1-6月累计开行7514列、发送72.4万标箱，单月开行连续26个月保持千列以上，成为畅通中欧贸易的“稳定器”和“加速阀”。
Wang Wenbin Since the beginning of this year, despite the ongoing pandemic and turbulence in the world, the China-Europe freight trains have managed to maintain safe and stable operation. In the first six months of this year, 7,514 trips were made, carrying 724,000 TEUs of goods. For 26 consecutive months, more than 1,000 trips were made each month. The China-Europe freight train service has become the stabilizer and accelerator of China-Europe trade.
中欧班列的“朋友圈”持续扩大，为沿线国家和地区带去发展新契机。截至目前，中欧班列已通达欧洲24个国家的190多个城市，形成一张贯通亚欧的物流网。数据显示，2016年至2021年，中欧班列年开行数量由1702列增长到15183列，年均增长55%；年运输货值由80亿美元提升至749亿美元；运输货物品类由起初的IT产品为主扩大到今天的5万余种。今年以来，中欧班列去回程综合重箱率持续高位企稳，保持在98%左右的较高水平。中欧班列在源源不断将商品运到沿线国家后，又满载外国货品回到中国，促进了沿线各国之间的经贸合作。此外，中欧班列还催生了许多新的物流、工业、商贸中心、产业园区，为沿线民众提供了成千上万的就业机会。
The China-Europe railway express has found more partners, creating new opportunities for the development of countries and regions along the routes. Today, its service has reached more than 190 cities in 24 European countries and provided a logistics network connecting Asia and Europe. Statistics show that from 2016 to 2021, the annual trips of China-Europe freight trains increased from 1,702 to 15,183, with an average annual growth of 55%. The annual value of goods transported increased from $8 billion to $74.9 billion. The railway delivers as many as 50,000 types of goods today, compared to IT products only in the early days. Since the beginning of this year, the overall ratio of laden containers on the departure and return trips of China-Europe freight trains has remained steady at a high level of around 98%. After transporting goods to countries along the routes, the China-Europe freight trains return to China loaded with foreign goods, promoting economic and trade cooperation among countries. In addition, the China-Europe railway express has given rise to many new centers for logistics, industrial and trade and industrial parks, creating tens of thousands of local jobs.
中欧班列不仅为稳定全球产业链供应链、推动世界经济复苏作出了积极贡献，还在中欧之间架起一座“生命桥梁”。截至今年6月底，中欧班列累计发送防疫物资1417万件、共计10.9万吨，生动诠释了守望相助、休戚与共的人类命运共同体理念。

By the end of June this year, the freight trains have delivered 14.17 million pieces of epidemic prevention articles, weighing a total of 109,000 tonnes. The railway express is a vivid illustration of the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind featuring mutual assistance and solidarity in times of need.
