问据报道，日前，“中亚五国+美国”机制外长会议期间，美国务卿蓬佩奥无端指责中国治疆政策，甚至妄称中国“试图抹去自己公民的穆斯林信仰和文化”。请问这对中国同中亚国家关系有何影响？

Q During the C5+1 ministerial meeting, US Secretary of State Pompeo lodged groundless accusations against China on its Xinjiang policy and even claimed that China attempts to "erase its own citizens' Muslim faith and culture". Will this impact China's relations with Central Asian countries?

中亚五国都是中国新疆的近邻，新疆经济社会发展，各民族人民安居乐业，依法充分享有宗教信仰自由的真实情况，中亚五国比美国更了解。美国国务卿蓬佩奥在中亚五国外长面前挑拨离间，给中国泼脏水，实在是找错了对象。

As a close neighbor to China's Xinjiang, the five Central Asian countries know better than the US the real situation in Xinjiang, where people of all ethnic groups live a happy life and enjoy full freedom of religious belief with sound socioeconomic development. Secretary Pompeo tried to sow discord and throw mud at China in front of the C5 foreign ministers, but this was simply barking up the wrong tree.

中国和中亚国家是友好邻邦和战略伙伴，双方唇齿相依、安危与共，新疆的稳定符合中国和中亚国家的共同利益。中亚国家在涉疆问题上一贯理解和支持中方，高度评价中国新疆采取的反恐和去极端化举措。我们坚信，中亚各国政府和人民发展对华睦邻友好关系、共同打击“三股势力”的决心是坚定的，不会受反华势力的蛊惑和挑拨，任何离间中国和中亚国家关系的图谋都不会得逞。

China and Central Asian countries are friendly neighbors and strategic partners as close as lips and teeth sharing weal and woe. A stable Xinjiang serves our common interests. The Central Asian countries always understand and support China on Xinjiang-related issues and speak highly of the counterterrorism and deradicalization measures in Xinjiang. We are convinced that the government and people of these Central Asian countries have firm resolve to develop friendly and good neighborly relations with China and fight terrorism, separatism and religious extremism and will not be deceived or instigated by anti-China forces. Attempts to drive a wedge between China and Central Asian countries will never succeed.

答近来，美方不顾中方反对，打着宗教人权的幌子，一而再、再而三地污蔑抹黑中国的治疆政策，干涉中国的内部事务，其在联大期间举行所谓关于新疆问题的讨论会更是错上加错。中方对美方的错误言行表示坚决反对，我们敦促美方取消举行有关会议，停止就新疆问题说三道四，停止以人权为名干涉中国内政。

A Lately the US, in disregard of China's opposition, has been using religion and human rights as a cover to slander and smear China's Xinjiang policies and interfere in China's internal affairs again and again. By holding the so-called panel discussion during the UNGA, it is going further down the wrong path. China firmly opposes the wrong rhetoric and actions by the US. We urge the US to cancel the relevant event, stop making wanton comments on Xinjiang, and stop interfering in others' domestic affairs in the name of human rights.

2015年至今，中方已就新疆反恐去极端化斗争、职业技能教育培训工作、人权事业发展进步、宗教信仰自由状况等发布了7本白皮书，有关新疆各方面的问题已经说得清清楚楚、明明白白。前不久，50个国家联名致函联合国人权理事会主席，赞赏中国新疆人权事业发展成就和反恐、去极端化成果，他们的立场态度也十分鲜明。一段时间以来，近千名外国使节、官员、媒体等各界人士先后访问新疆。他们都对当地依法打击和预防恐怖主义表示认可和赞许，媒体也都作了充分报道。美方对中方在反恐和去极端化方面所作的努力和取得的成果视而不见，对有关国家和有识之士就新疆问题发出的正义之声充耳不闻，这是选择性、间歇性失明和失聪。这是病，得治。

Since 2015, China has released seven white papers on Xinjiang with detailed information covering such areas as counter-terrorism and de-radicalization,vocational education and training, progress in human rights and religious freedom. Not long ago, 50 countries co-signed a letter to the president of the UN Human Rights Council and explicitly commended the progress in China's human rights cause and its effective counterterrorism and deradicalization efforts. Almost a thousand foreign diplomats, officials and journalists have visited Xinjiang recently. They all recognized and spoke positively of the local efforts to fight and prevent terrorism in accordance with law. There has also been wide media coverage on that. The US chooses not to see China's efforts and progress in counterterrorism and deradicalization, and not to hear the voice of justice on Xinjiang by relevant countries and individuals. It conveniently acts blind and deaf from time to time. This malaise should be treated.
