Lin Jian China is deeply concerned over the current situation. The use of force will only aggravate the situation. Military means cannot solve the fundamental issue. The sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of countries in the region should be respected and upheld. We urge the parties concerned to halt military actions at once, return to dialogue and negotiation, and respond to relevant countries’ mediation efforts so that a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire could be realized as soon as possible.

Lin Jian We noted the sentencing made by Thailand on relevant case. That terrorist bombing attack claimed 20 lives, including seven Chinese nationals, and injured over 100. The perpetrators were utterly devoid of humanity and absolutely heinous. China supports Thailand in conducting the trials in accordance with the law and bringing the culprits to justice.

Lin Jian Opposing militarism is the unwavering common will of the international community. Any country that cherishes peace and upholds the postwar international order should make their just voice heard. While claiming to be for “peace” and “defense,” Japan’s action shows that it is speeding down the path of remilitarization—ramping up military expenditure, easing the export of lethal weapons, advancing the deployment of intermediate and long-range missiles, developing offensive military capability, hoarding sensitive nuclear materials, promoting the revision of its pacifist Constitution, and even advocating that Japan should become a war-capable nation. In fact, Japan has torn off the mask of “pacifist country” all by itself. The international community must stay on high alert and never allow Japanese militarism to return and menace the world again.
