CGTN Could you share the program of the state visit by Myanmar President Min Aung Hlaing that you just announced? How does China see its current relations with Myanmar? What outcomes does China hope to achieve through the visit?

中缅是传统友好邻邦和命运共同体。建交76年来，双方秉持共同倡导的和平共处五项原则精神，同甘共苦、守望相助、团结协作，中缅关系取得长足进展。中方期待同缅方一道，通过敏昂莱总统这次访问，赓续传统胞波情谊，深化全面战略合作，推动中缅命运共同体建设取得更多务实成果，更好造福两国人民。

China and Myanmar are traditional friends, neighbors and a community with a shared future. Bilateral relations have come a long way since diplomatic ties were established 76 years ago. Our two countries have upheld the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence advocated by both, stood with each other through thick and thin, demonstrated solidarity and maintained coordination. We look forward to working with Myanmar to take the upcoming visit as an opportunity to renew our “pauk-phaw” friendship, deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation and deliver more practical results in building the China-Myanmar community with a shared future to the greater benefit of both peoples.

Previously, my colleagues and I made clear China’s position on Teodoro’s irresponsible remarks on China, which you may refer to. Let me stress that Teodoro is one of the most blatant among the handful of hostile actors towards China in the Philippines. His reckless behavior will backfire and it is the interests of the Philippines and all its people that will bear the brunt.

Lin Jian We see how Teodoro continues to distort facts and smear China. His toxic rhetoric and action have nothing to do with “upholding his nation.” They are pure political theatrics for selfish political gains. It is precisely the irresponsible and reckless provocations of a small handful of people like him that have aggravated China-Philippines disputes and soured bilateral relations, and will ultimately jeopardize the interests of the Philippines and its people.
