Lai Chee-ying is the principal mastermind and perpetrator behind the series of riots that shook Hong Kong. The facts concerning his crimes of endangering national security are clear and the evidence is solid. The judicial authorities of the Hong Kong SAR made the ruling based on facts and in accordance with the law. This is lawful, justified and beyond reproach.
香港是法治社会，有法必依、违法必究是基本原则，任何人都不能打着“民主”“自由”的旗号从事违法犯罪活动并企图逃脱法律制裁。
Hong Kong upholds the rule of law. To abide by the law and bring lawbreakers to justice is a basic principle. No one should be allowed to use “democracy” and “freedom” as a pretext to engage in unlawful and criminal activities and escape justice.
我要再次强调，香港事务纯属中国内政，香港法治不容撼动，任何外国无权说三道四。中国政府维护国家主权、安全、发展利益的决心坚定不移，贯彻“一国两制”方针的决心坚定不移。一切破坏香港由治及兴进程、妄想乱港遏华的图谋都绝不可能得逞。我们敦促有关方面尊重中国主权，恪守国际法原则和国际关系基本准则，立即停止以任何方式插手香港事务、干涉中国内政。
Let me stress again that Hong Kong affairs are purely China’s internal affairs. The rule of law in Hong Kong is unshakable and no foreign country has the right to make irresponsible remarks. The Chinese government remains unwavering in its determination to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, security and development interests and to implement One Country, Two Systems. Any attempt to disrupt Hong Kong’s advancement from stability to prosperity or to destabilize Hong Kong and contain China is doomed to fail. We urge relevant sides to respect China’s sovereignty, abide by the principles in international law and basic norms governing international relations, and immediately stop meddling in Hong Kong affairs and stop interfering in China’s internal affairs in any form.

林剑中方已多次阐明相关严正立场。真正的对话应建立在尊重对方、恪守共识的基础上。嘴里喊着对话、手上却忙着对抗，这样的“对话”没人会接受。日方如果真心想发展中日战略互惠关系，很简单，也很明确，就是撤回高市涉台错误言论，恪守中日四个政治文件和日方作出的政治承诺，以实际行动展现对话诚意。
Lin Jian China has made clear its just position on this issue more than once. True dialogue is built on the basis of respecting each other and honoring the agreements made. If anyone just talks about the need for dialogue while keeping themselves busy stoking confrontation, then this so-called “dialogue” is apparently unacceptable. If the Japanese side truly wants to develop the strategic relationship of mutual benefit with China, what it needs to do is simple and clear, that is, retract Takaichi’s erroneous remarks on Taiwan, abide by the four political documents between China and Japan and its own political commitments, and take concrete actions to demonstrate its sincerity for dialogue.
