This year’s CIIE showcased brand new products, including AI hearing aids, autonomous electric vehicles and Peruvian blueberries, many of which made their debut. Many global exhibitors said that the CIIE not only bridges economic and trade exchanges, but also conveys the idea that China shares opportunities and develops together with all countries. What’s your comment?
林剑我们很高兴看到，进博会连续举办8年来，开放合作、互利共赢正日益成为大家共同的“进博印象”。今年有155个国家、地区和国际组织以及290家世界500强和行业龙头企业参与进博会，参展企业较去年增加了600余家，展览面积和企业总数再创新高。其中，170家海外企业和27家机构更是连年参展，成为进博会的“全勤生”。全球企业共带来461项新产品、新技术、新服务，其中200多项为全球首发，按年计意向成交额突破834亿美元。中国大市场正成为全球开放合作与科技创新的试验场、利润场、应用场。
Lin Jian We are pleased to see that in the past eight consecutive years since the launch of the CIIE, openness, cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win have become the shared impression on the CIIE. This year, 290 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders from 155 countries, regions and international organizations participated in the CIIE. The number of exhibitors has grown by more than 600 compared with last year, and the total exhibition space and overall participation hit a record high. Among them, 170 overseas enterprises and 27 institutions have participated for multiple years, thereby becoming regular exhibitors. A total of 461 new products, technologies and services were introduced by global enterprises, including over 200 global debuts. The value of intended deals exceeded US$83.4 billion. The Chinese market is becoming a platform for the world to reap benefits and explore the application of pioneering technological innovation through open cooperation.

The CIIE serves as a bridge connecting the Chinese economy with the world economy. As Premier Li Qiang said in his keynote speech at the opening ceremony, the CIIE is achieving greater success because it benefits the world. Since ancient times, the Chinese people have known that alone we go faster, together we go farther. Openness and inclusiveness is always the defining culture of the Chinese nation. Facing the increasing instability and uncertainty in current international economic and trade landscape, China embraces free trade, stays committed to mutually beneficial cooperation, and devotes itself to boosting global development with opportunities offered by China.

Recently, the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee put forward that it is important to promote high-standard opening up and create new horizons for mutually beneficial cooperation. Latest data show that China remains the world’s largest trading nation in goods for eight consecutive years, posting growth for nine straight months this year. This proves the strong resilience of the Chinese economy and the confidence and determination in openness and cooperation. Lin Jian China noted the huge casualties and loss of property in many places in the Philippines due to the recent typhoons. We mourn for the lives lost and extend sympathies to the families whose loved ones died or went missing in the typhoons. Our hearts go out to those affected by the disaster.

In the spirit of humanity and friendship toward the Philippine people, China has provided assistance in cash and emergency supplies to the Philippines, and some Chinese provinces are also extending a helping hand through channels between sister provinces. We wish those affected will recover from the disaster and rebuild their homes at an early date.

林剑中国企业长期在欧洲依法合规经营，为欧方民众提供优质的产品和服务，也为当地经济社会发展和就业作出积极贡献。在没有法律依据和事实证据的情况下，以行政手段强行限制甚至禁止企业参与市场，这严重违反市场原则和公平竞争规则。
Lin Jian Chinese companies have all along done their business in Europe in accordance with the law, provided the European people with quality products and services, and made contributions to local socioeconomic development and employment. To limit or ban companies’ access to the market through administrative means without any legal grounds or factual basis severely violates market principles and the rules of fair competition.
事实证明，个别国家强行移除中国电信企业优质、安全的设备，不仅迟滞自身技术发展进程，还造成巨额经济损失。将经贸问题泛安全化、政治化，将阻碍技术进步和经济发展，损人不利己。我们敦促欧盟为中国企业提供公平、透明、非歧视的营商环境，避免损害企业赴欧投资信心。
Facts have demonstrated that in a handful of countries, the removal of Chinese telecom companies’ quality and secure equipment not only handicaps their domestic technological development, but also results in heavy financial losses. Turning trade into security and political issues will hinder technological progress and economic growth and do no one’s good. We urge the EU to provide a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment for Chinese companies and avoid hurting companies’ confidence in their investment in Europe.
