Guo Jiakun The China-Laos Railway is a flagship project of Belt and Road cooperation between China and ASEAN and the joint effort of promoting regional economic integration. The railway has witnessed the booming momentum of China and ASEAN countries working together in the same direction. In recent years, practical cooperation in various sectors between China and ASEAN countries has made steady progress and yielded fruitful results. In 2024, the trade volume between the two sides totaled around US$ 1 trillion. China and ASEAN have been each other’s largest trading partner for five consecutive years, and the two-way investment has exceeded US$ 450 billion in total by July, 2025. From 2024 to 2025, the two sides jointly held a series of activities for “China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchange,” which effectively strengthened people-to-people exchanges and forged closer bonds. The two sides have also jointly created cooperation highlights in sectors such as digital economy, artificial intelligence and new energy, which improved the quality of and encouraged innovation in regional development. Recently, the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo was successfully convened. Around 70 new products were launched at the Expo. It fully speaks to the enormous potential of China and ASEAN countries in seizing new development opportunities and opening up new prospects for cooperation.

Guo Jiakun The U.S., Japan and the ROK made irresponsible remarks on the Taiwan question and maritime issues, which amount to interference in China’s internal affairs and groundless accusations against China. We deplore and reject those remarks.
台湾是中国领土不可分割的一部分，台湾问题纯属中国内政，不容任何外来干涉。当前台海和平稳定的最大威胁是“台独”分裂行径和外部势力纵容支持，维护台海和平稳定就必须坚持一个中国原则，必须明确反对“台独”。有关国家应该恪守一个中国原则，停止以任何形式纵容“台独”分裂活动，不得向“台独”分裂势力发出错误信号。
Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory, and the Taiwan question is purely China’s internal affair, which brooks no external interference. The greatest threat to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait comes from the separatist activities of “Taiwan independence” forces and the external connivance and support they receive. To maintain cross-Strait peace and stability, one must uphold the one-China principle and unequivocally oppose “Taiwan independence.” Relevant countries should abide by the one-China principle, stop abetting “Taiwan independence” separatist activities in any form, and not send any wrong signal to “Taiwan independence” separatist forces.
当前南海局势总体保持稳定。中方始终坚定捍卫领土主权和海洋权益，同时致力于同有关当事国通过对话协商妥善处理分歧。有关国家应该尊重地区国家通过对话协商解决问题、维护和平稳定的共同努力，停止渲染紧张、挑动对抗。
The current situation in the South China Sea is generally stable. China, while firmly defending its territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, remains committed to the proper settlement of differences with countries concerned through dialogue and consultation. Relevant countries need to respect regional countries’ joint efforts to handle issues through dialogue and consultation and uphold peace and stability, and stop creating tension or stoking confrontation.
