China News Service The 62nd Session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded in Hangzhou on March 1. We’ve learned that China actively shared its experience and practice in meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation at the session. Can you share the outcomes of the session? We’ve also noted that COP30 President André Corrêa do Lago said in a recent interview that “China has been able to give some fantastic answers to the fight against climate change.” “They are doing their own thing, and their own thing is benefiting the rest of the world,” he added. What is your response? 

在绿色转型发展道路上，中国始终是全球南方国家的“同路人”。中方积极响应联合国关于气象早期预警倡议，与全球132个国家和地区共享观测数据，同巴基斯坦、埃塞俄比亚等国联合开发预警系统，分享中国经验和中国方案。我们主动承担与自身国情和实际能力相符的国际义务，向上百个发展中国家推广绿色创新成果，降低各国减排成本、提升全球绿色产能水平。低碳示范区、风光电设施、节能照明项目遍布亚非拉地区，绿色能源从“奢侈品”变为“日用品”。我们将继续致力于构建公平合理、合作共赢的全球气候治理体系，支持发展中国家应对气变能力建设和技术提升，推动全球南方共同实现绿色、低碳振兴。

China is always a partner of Global South countries on the development path of green transition. China proactively responded to the U.N. initiative on meteorological early warning, shared observation data with 132 countries and regions worldwide, and jointly developed early warning system together with Pakistan, Ethiopia and other countries, and shared China’s experience and solution. We actively shouldered international obligations commensurate with our national conditions and capabilities. China shared the results of green innovation with more than 100 developing countries to lower the cost of emission reduction and boost global green production capacity. Low-carbon demonstration zones, facilities of wind and solar power, and energy-efficient lighting projects are all over Asia, Africa and Latin America. Green energy has become a daily necessity, instead of a luxury. We will stay committed to building a fair and equitable global climate governance system for win-win cooperation, supporting developing countries’ climate response capacity building and technological advancement, and helping Global South countries jointly realize green and low-carbon revitalization.

We focus on sharing with all humanity the results of China’s development and offer opportunities for cooperation in China’s space station. We are willing to work with Pakistan to elevate our space cooperation to a new level, and give a stronger boost to the socioeconomic development of the two countries through space technologies.
