答美国向中国台湾地区出售武器，严重违反一个中国原则和中美三个联合公报特别是“八·一七”公报规定，严重侵犯中国主权和安全利益，严重违反国际法，向“台独”分裂势力发出严重错误信号，破坏中美关系，危害台海和平稳定，同美方领导人“不支持台独”表态背道而驰。中方强烈不满、坚决反对，已向美方提出严正交涉。
A The US arms sales to China’s Taiwan region seriously violate the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiqués, especially the August 17 Communiqué of 1982 and China’s sovereignty and security interests. The sales are a severe breach of the international law, send a gravely wrong signal to “Taiwan independence” separatist forces, and are detrimental to China-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. The decision to sell arms to Taiwan is simply inconsistent with US leaders’ commitment of not supporting “Taiwan independence.” China deplores and firmly opposes it and has lodged serious protests to the US.
中方敦促美方立即停止武装台湾，停止纵容支持“台独”势力“以武谋独”。中方将采取有力措施坚决反制，坚定捍卫国家主权、安全和领土完整。
We call on the US to immediately stop arming Taiwan and stop abetting and supporting “Taiwan independence” separatist forces in seeking “Taiwan independence” by building up its military. China will take strong and resolute countermeasures to firmly defend national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
