Wang Wenbin We took note of the relevant information. I want to stress that the BRI, an initiative for international economic cooperation, always follows the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits and upholds the spirit of openness, inclusiveness and transparency. The Victoria State's decision to cooperate with China under the BRI framework to improve the wellbeing of both peoples is a good thing that could have brought benefits to both sides. The Australian federal government vetoed the BRI cooperation agreements between the government of Victoria and China for no good reason, wantonly disrupting normal exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and gravely undermining the bilateral relations and mutual trust. China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition and has already lodged solemn representation with the Australian side. China reserves the right to make further reactions over this matter.
我们敦促澳方摒弃冷战思维和意识形态偏见，客观理性看待中澳合作，立即纠正错误、改弦更张，不要在错误的道路上越走越远，使原本就面临严重困难的中澳关系雪上加霜。
We urge Australia to set aside cold war mentality and ideological bias, view the bilateral cooperation in an objective and rational light, immediately redress mistakes and change course, refrain from going down the wrong path further, and avoid making the already seriously difficult China-Australia relations worse.

汪文斌我想指出以下事实：澳方审查了1000多项协议，最终决定撤销4项，其中同中方签署的协议就有2项。澳方所谓“不针对特定国家”根本站不住脚。澳方近年来以模糊不清、毫无根据的所谓“不符合澳外交政策”、“不符合澳安全利益”为由做了大量破坏中澳正常交流和合作、毒化两国互信和民意氛围的事。我要指出，澳方的政治操弄和无理行径完全违背中澳全面战略伙伴关系精神，是在开历史倒车，性质恶劣，对两国地方、企业合作信心产生了严重消极影响，也使澳方自身形象和信誉受损。
Wang Wenbin I'd like to point out some facts. Australia reviewed over 1,000 agreements and decided to cancel four, among which two agreements are signed with China. The claim that this decision is not aimed at any country does not hold water. Australia did a lot to disrupt normal exchanges and cooperation between the two countries and poison the mutual trust and popular atmosphere under the ambiguous and baseless pretexts of "inconsistency with Australia's foreign policy" and "inconsistency with Australia's national security". I want to point out that Australia's political manipulation and unreasonable behavior contravenes the spirit of the China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership. This back-pedalling is vile in nature. It gravely dampensthe confidence for cooperation of localities and companies, and undermines Australia's reputation and credibility.
中方始终认为，一个健康、稳定的中澳关系符合两国人民的根本利益。澳方口口声声说希望同中国开展合作、加强高层对话，却说一套做一套，一而再、再而三地损害双边关系。此次澳方所作所为再次表明，他们对改善中澳关系毫无诚意。我们再次敦促澳方立即撤销错误决定，改弦更张，停止对中澳关系不负责任的言行，停止对两国正常合作交流无端设限，否则中方必将坚决有力回应。
China always holds that a sound and stable relationship serves the fundamental interests of the two peoples. Australia says it hopes to cooperate with China and strengthen high-level dialogue. However, what it did is quite the opposite. The Australian side undermined the bilateral relations time and again. What it did this time is another testimony that Australia lacks the basic sincerity for improving the ties. We urge Australia one more time to revoke the wrong decision and change course immediately, stop irresponsible moves, and avoid imposing groundless restrictions on normal exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. Otherwise, China will resolutely take strong reactions.
