Bloomberg There is a report from the Sydney-based Lowy Institute that says that China has only been able to deliver on a little over one third of its infrastructure spending commitments in Southeast Asia. It’s attributed this to a variety of reasons, including political instability in particular countries. Does the Foreign Ministry have any comments on why so little of the commitments have been delivered?

We will follow through on the eight major measures for supporting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. We will elevate high-quality cooperation with Southeast Asian countries and other BRI partners, and provide impetus for each other’s modernization. For the issues that may exist in the implementation of certain individual projects, China and relevant countries have engaged in active communication and sought to properly work through them by following the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.
