Wang Wenbin Year after year, the US side has generated disinformation-based reports on human trafficking to mislead the world. The truth is, the US is the No.1 country on human trafficking.
无论美方如何掩饰，都洗刷不了自己“奴隶贸易国”的历史原罪。作为一个仅有246年历史的国家，奴隶制度在美国“合法”的延续时间占到了美国建国历史的三分之一。1514年至1866年间至少有3.6万个“贩奴远征队”将上百万的黑人奴隶贩卖至美国。
No matter how hard the US tries, it cannot erase its sin as a slave trade country historically. Slavery remained legal in the US for a third of the country’s 246-year history. Between 1514 and 1866, about 36,000 slave voyages brought millions of black slaves to the US.

No matter how hard the US tries, it cannot justify or change the reality that it is a source, transit, and destination country for victims of forced labor. Human trafficking can be found in any sector, legal or otherwise. According to the US Department of State, up to 100,000 people are trafficked into the US for forced labor annually. Over the past five years, forced labor and human trafficking were reported in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, the number of cases reported increased significantly from about 3,200 in 2012 to about 11,500 in 2019.

The Chinese government follows the UN Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons Especially Women and Children, supplementing the convention to the letter. We launched the National Plan of Action on Combating Trafficking in Women and Children (2008-2012) in 2007, the Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking (2013-2020) in 2013 and the Action Plan on Combating Human Trafficking (2021-2030) in 2021. The Chinese government has established a joint meeting mechanism of 35 departments and agencies on combating human trafficking at the State Council, improved the working mechanism that is led by the government and widely participated by various social sectors, and provided a sound mechanism for preventing and fighting human trafficking and helping and protecting victims. Efforts made throughout the years in this area have produced notable progress.
我们敦促美方把对人权的重视体现到消除美国内广泛存在的人口贩运、强迫劳动等人权罪行的实际行动上，用美方鼓吹的“最高标准”审视自己，而不是对别国进行污蔑抹黑。
China urges the US to eliminate human trafficking, forced labor and other human rights violations that widely exist in the US if it does care about human rights, and make sure that the US itself is bound by the “highest standards” instead of smearing and denigrating other countries.
